Lawn Fawn Gleeful Gardens

Hello Friends!  I came into some Lawn Fawn stamps the other day, aren't they the cutest?  I love that little snail.  Although I admit the scientist in me is screaming that snails eyes are on those antennae!  Of course, eyes up there are not nearly as cute.  Google snail eyes, you'll see what I mean.

Anyhow this card uses PTI cardstock, pti sentiment and Lawn Fawn Gleeful Gardens.  It is colored with copic markers.  Simple and easy!

Stitches and Swirls

Merry Christmas and Hello friends!  Its been awhile.  I've been knee deep in 7th grade curriculum and grading.  Haven't touched an ink pad for most of the school year.  However, Christmas break has given me some relax time which has been great!  Yay for a little free time!

I give you a card!  I used Stitches and Swirls from PTI.  I colored it with my copics.  While coloring I realized many of my pens are dry so of course I needed to place a large refill order.  Getting those pens filled back up soon!  Colors here are Lime Ice and Berry Sorbet (PTI).  I've got stickles on the flowers which is showing up a bit weird in the picture.  Thanks for taking the time to stop in!

Daffodil Thank You

image
Greetings friends!  Today I have a copic colored card for you.  Its been awhile since I last had my pens out!  Heck the crafty supplies haven't seen much use at all lately!  So much going on in my life!  Let me get the card deets out of the way and then I will catch you up.  First off, this card uses two PTI sets:  Year of the Flowers, Daffodil and Background Basics, Tin Type.  I stamped both in dark chocolate ink.  The base of the flower in white and the base of the card is fine linen.  I cut the flower out using the coordinating die.  I colored it with Y13,Y15,Y17, and Y18.  The stem/leaves are colored with YG23 and YG25.  The sentiment is from Thanks All Ways (I think...).  The washi tape is from WRMemories and the sequins are doodlebug.
RANDOMNESS:  So I've been busy starting a new teaching job at a new school.  I've changed both grades and subjects.  I am now teaching 7th grade ELA/History and an elective focused on merging technology and science and writing.  I am super excited but wow, so much work!  Anyway the workload will definitely be keeping me busy especially when school starts on the 2nd.
Leaving my old school was really hard (but a good decision I think!).  I was there 17 years!  Craziness. My principal retired last year and I decided it was time for a change.  Speaking of that, when she retired I drew her this picture of the front of the school and colored it with my copics.  Its 8.5x11 inches.  I framed it for her.  She loved it!  IMG_0226
I really enjoyed doing it.  Sometimes we get so busy we totally forget to do the things we love.  I love to draw.  Thanks for stopping in today!

About to Go on Hiatus....

image
Hello Lovelies!  Here's the last post for a good few weeks- maybe months!  We are moving and today I am packing up all my lovely card making supplies.  I am so sad.  Not to be moving but to be putting all my crafty goodness into boxes.  Once I am unpacked and settled we will be back in business.  Until then I leave with the last thing I made in my old house.  Its one of a set of science cards that will be given to my daughter's science teacher.  I used stamps from There She Goes.  I love this set even more than I love PTI's science set.  Its my absolute fave.  I colored with copics and added stickles and called it done!  Thanks for stopping in!

Original Artwork Hibiscus Card

Hello friends!  So happy to report I finally got around to scanning and coloring one of my drawings.  I am so glad I scanned it first because while I like how this came out I really want to try another color combo and maybe some colored pencils.  Here I used copics.  I printed the drawing on PTI cardstock.  The sentiment is one of my favorites from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

Great Cat Friends

Hello Friends! I've got a new little card for you today.  A couple of cute cats from Hero Arts.
IMG_0023
Bought this set on a whim at my LSS.  I have a feeling it was on sale.  The sentiments are from Hero Arts as well and those I paid full price for.  I colored the cats with my copic makers.  Hadn't colored in awhile and just felt like doing something relaxing that wouldn't let me eat at the same time.  I am trying to reduce the old size here.  Reading and t.v. watching drive to the snackage but coloring not so much.  Anyway back to the card- Doodlebug paper, PTI ribbon and cardstock.  That sums it up!  Have a great week friends!

PTI Make It Monday #107 Clear Cards

Hello friends!  Its me again, back with more iPhone photos- but for you I upped the ante and edited them (with the iPhone- hahaha!).  I decided to play along with papertrey ink's Make It Monday today.  The challenge was to create a clear card and do a little copic coloring.  It sounded easy enough even though I have never been a big fan of the clear card- simply too much work in my opinion and hard to photograph on top of all that.  Here is what I came up with:
IMG_2205
The straight on shot- you can see I artfully arranged it on top of my tower of ink pads and chose two random coordinating pieces of paper for the background.  The stamp set used is flower garden with the sentiment from the latest birthday set.  I used memento black and winter wisteria ink.
IMG_2206
A little peek at the inside.  Since its a clear card I was forced did up the inside too.  Same two stamp sets, winter wisteria ink.  Everything held together with my ATG.  Thanks for stopping in today.  If you want me to cry happy tears (instead of loud pitiful sobs into my pillow) leave me some love in the comments!

Mitten Love

Hi there friends!  I have a Christmas card or Holiday card for you today.  I used stamps from The Cat's Pajamas.  Stamped in momento black and colored with copic marker.  I embossed using spellbinders rectangles.  Added some stickles in diamond and called it done.

I hope all of you on the East Coast are staying safe and dry.  Its a beautiful day here in California.  Supposed to get up to 79 today.  My son is off track (year round school) so today (I have Mondays off) we will be having a little mommy and son time.  Going to finally go get some Halloween pumpkins, see if we can find our Halloween lights, look for some little stuffed pets he collects at the store, and then it will be time to pick up my jr. higher from school.    After that its off and running for the rest of the week.  Thanks for stopping by!

Sunflowers on Red

Good Morning friends!  Its another of those Papercrafts rejects.  I love this card.  I thought they would love it too- wrong!  Ah well.  Anyway here it is.  Papertrey Ink's supersized Autumn Abundance.  It has another name- something like sunflowers.... again too lazy to go look. Dark chocolate ink, copic coloring, patterned paper from some little company whose name escapes me but its not one of the big dogs.  Anyway there you have it- completely useless information!   Thanks for stopping in.  Those of you who left me comments yesterday- thank you they made my day.  I still don't know what I am doing with the blog- I have learned not make rash decisions- but I thank you for reading it, or at least looking at the pictures.  :)

Hello Birds

Have a little card for you today featuring Hero Arts stamps (sorry no clue of the set- too lazy to go look).  The Hello sentiment is from PTI Fillable frames.  Assorted patterned paper from stash.  White gel pen, black copic liner.  Thats about it!  Thanks for stopping in.  I know the updates have been sporadic.  I am toying with the idea of no longer blogging.  I hate that I can't keep it up like I used to but I have so much going on this always goes to the back burner.  Anyway... until next time.

Cute Little Rejects

Yeah, rejected again.  Paper Crafts better be careful or I might develop a complex!  LOL.  Today I have some adorable Lawn Fawn rejects.  I personally love them and will be putting them on my mantle this year.
P1070416
I used Lawn Fawn's Sweet Christmas set to whip up these little gingerbread houses and gingerbread men.  Everyone got the 3D treatment.  I made my own little template for the house.  It took a lot of futzing around but it was worth it.  The faces of the house, gingers, and tree are all colored with copics.

Shady Tree Studio Cardinal

MEMO0032
Hello friends!  Two days in a row, crazy huh?  Anyway I am back with one of my most favorite stamps from Shady Tree Studio.  I just love this cardinal.  He is so fun to color.  The best part is you can still buy him.  Even though STS is no longer selling off of their blog, Nancy's gorgeous artwork has been picked up by Inky Antics.  He is part of the Perching Birds set!  You can order directly from Inky Antics or you can get them at your LSS.
My Cardinal was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics.  I mounted him on some Echo Park paper.  I stamped a sentiment from Waltzinmouse on some vellum and then added some red buttons.

Birthday Sunflowers

Hey there friends!  Bet you thought I had dropped of the face of the Earth, huh?  I have thought about my sad little blog so many times over the last few weeks but just couldn't get the oomph to go take some pictures, edit them, and fix it all up.  I have been creating.  I haven't been taking photos.  But a few days ago I finally did and this is what I have for you today:
P1070355
Copic colored card using PTI's Autumn Abundance and Waltzingmouse Stamp's Compact Sentiments.  Just a little aside about the WMS set-  It is the best sentiment set I own.  I LOVE the font, I love how bold it is and I love the sizes.  Excellent set- check it out!  Anyway papers are fairly new and I believe are by Cosmo Cricket.  The die cut is Spellbinders Lacy Circles.   As for the coloring I kind of cheated and copied Debbie Olson's color scheme from this post.  I just went out and looked at it again, and I used a totally different green combo for the leaves but the vase is totally based off of hers.  Anyway elsewhere on her blog she has a totally stepped out tutorial if you are new to copics.
Well I would like to promise you that I will be posting again in earnest but I go back to work tomorrow to start a new school year and I have no idea how long it will take me to get back into the swing of things so I'll I can say is I will TRY to get back into the regularly scheduled postings!  As always thanks for stopping by!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 101

P1070123
Why hello there friends!  Its Saturday, which means its Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge time!  You can get all the details at the WMS Sketch blog.  Today I pulled out my most favorite of all WMS sets, Teeny Trees!  I stamped the tree and the sentiment in New Leaf.  The trunk is in Kraft.  The little bird is from the Half Pint Heroines set.  I colored it with my copics.  The background is from Heirloom backgrounds.  It is the smaller houndstooth.  Thanks so much for visiting me today!  I have three more days of work and then SUMMER- so hopefully more blog updates to come! Edit: if you liked this card you may want to see the whole set... here

More WaltzingMouse!

P1070121
Hello friends!  I have another Waltzingmouse stamps card for you today.  This one is almost entirely paper pieced.  I started by stamping the balloon (these stamps are from the Pint Sized Heroines set).  I then stamped the balloon on some Cosmo Cricket paper.  I cut out all the little pieces and pieced it back together.  I stamped and cut out the clouds next.  I took some distress ink to the card background along with some copic markers fro the girl.  I curved the sentiment around the cloud and then mounted the entire thing on some more Cosmo Cricket paper.
