Shady Tree Studio Card and Sale

Hi there! I have so neglected my poor blog. I have lots of excuses but I will spare you. First off I want to tell you about the sale at Shady Tree Studio. 20% off all stamps! Sale ends on Tuesday, so hurry over and pick out something cute. Next I have a cute little card that I made using STS stamps. I used Groovy Kind of Love. I made the background paper myself using a grid and a selection of stamps from Groovy Kind of Love. I love that dove so I decided to use that as my focal point. I colored it with my copics and popped it up on a scalloped circle. I added some little rhinestones for interest and a big beautiful American Crafts ribbon. Thanks for stopping by!

Presents!

I made this to package up the peanut brittle for my Dr. My endocrinologist, that I see for my type 1 diabetes- yes I made her candy. She loved it! She is the best doctor I have ever had, I adore her. She also is not diabetic so it wasn't like I was trying to kill her or anything. I used some yummy ribbon from Michaels, a recycled container that the peanuts came in, and my lovely WMS remedies set. I love this set. Its so simple and perfect. You just cut it out with the matching nestie and you are good to go. I tied it on with a little twine I bought from Crate and Barrel. It was something like 2300 yards so I am good for awhile! LOL

Shady Tree Studio Day 3 and Moxie Fab Challenge!

Welcome back for day 3 of Shady Tree Studio fabulousness! I also snuck a Moxie Fab challenge in here. This close to Christmas I have to multi task! ( I also promised some blog candy... which I will put up in a new post after the sets are officially released. (I don't want to steal Nancy's thunder and show a full set to soon)). So onto today's goods. My first card uses the set Power of Love. I wanted to stay simple and clean (probably my favorite style). I used a white base and embossed it with my spellbinders die. I think its labels 5 but I could be wrong. After embossing I stamped it with this triple heart image. I inked up the stamp in two colors. Next I stamped the sentiment in gray and then added some stickles to the hearts.
A close up of the image and all their stickle goodness. For my next card I was inspired by a couple of things. First off I had been reading facebook and saw this Moxie Fab challenge for glitter. You need to check out this challenge and play along! Second, when I look at this image I am taken back to my late 70's, early 80's childhood. All those puffy letters and rainbows made me think of these glittery shirts I used to have and the fun glittery flocked stickers.

I started by stamping my image on white card. I colored it in with my copics, no shading - just flat coloring. Next I pulled out all my stickles (and I own quite a few!) and glitter painted my image. Then I had to wait for it to dry. After it was dry I mounted it on blue cardstock with pop dots. I wish you could see this in person, the photos (which are not my best- I am working late here) do not do it justice.
One last close up for you. I hope you like sparkle! Come back later and I will have some yummy Shady Tree Studios blog candy for you! You're going to like it!

Shady Tree Studio Day 2

Good Morning Blogland! I am back with some more Shady Tree Goodness. I really like the stamps on this release. There are so many unique images to choose from. So many things to color too, and you know how I love to color. This first card features the set, Groovy Kind of Love. I love everything about it. So many great puffy letter sentiments and free flowing drawings. This house is my favorite. I've got some aqua mist cardstock layered with some Imaginesce patterned paper. On top is my cardstock panel. I stamped the image in Memento tuxedo black and went crazy with my copics. Next I added a fun little sentiment that I curved to fit around the tree. Make sure you click on the picture to see all the details.
My second card has stamps from the Power of Love set that I used yesterday. I started by stamping the big flower in smokey shadow on white cardstock. I colored it with my copics, cut it out and then went a little crazy with my stickles. Next I die cut a piece of Bazzill cardstock to mount the flower on. I added the sentiment in white to the side. Finally for the base I used another image from Power of Love. I stamped it in some lavender chalk ink (Dew Drops) and then inked up the sides for good measure.
I hope you enjoyed today's previews. Be sure to check out the rest of the design team. The links are right over in my left side bar under the Shady Tree icon. They have some beautiful things to show you! Be sure to come back tomorrow because I have some great Shady Tree Studio blog candy for you!

Shady Tree Studio Day 1

Hi there! Its day one of the Shady Tree Studio December release! These stamps will all be available for sale on December 16th. This image and sentiment are from a set called, The Power of Love.
I stamped the main image on white cardstock with Dark Chocolate ink. I colored with my copics and then stained it up with PTI chai tea ink. I cut it out with my little detail scissors and popped it up on this cute little box (made with the PTI favor it die). The sentiment is on a little tag I picked up at Walmart (an insane amount of tags for very little money). I stamped it, colored it and then stained it up. I added some cute pink ribbon from American Crafts.
Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to stop by and see all the other girls on the DT. You can find the links in my sidebar under the STS logo.

Joy Banner card

Good Morning! Wow, its been a few days. I blame my holiday preparations. Once again, too much to do, too little time to get it done. I am also stressing because I am going out of town this weekend with my girlfriend and while I know I will have fun I also know the work at home will continue to pile up! Anyway on to the card. I started with a red base and added those lovely stripes with versamark. I then cut a label with my nesties and used a tiny dot stamp to make a border. Next I went to work with my PTI banner stamps and dies. I love the way it came out! I used the letters from simple alphabet to spell JOY.

Bookmark Gift Set

I made this for a PaperCrafts mag call. It wasn't picked up, so now I think of it as a reject. LOL. Reject or not, I still really like it and I think I will gift it to one of my daughter's teachers. Its a little folder that holds some bookplates and some cute little bookmarks. I used the All Booked Up and Wise Owl sets from PTI. The plaid paper is really old, from Cloud9. But I think any plaid would work fine for this, I just really liked the colors. The base is PTIs rustic cream cardstock. Lots of dark chocolate and Chai Tea ink. Thanks for stopping in.

Festive Foilage

Good Morning Blogland! Today I have another Christmas card. This one is easy to mass produce and easy to mail. The focal image is from Waltzingmouse stamps, a set called Festive Foilage. The sentiment is from PTI, Tree Trimming Trio. I used some tea stain ink on the edges and brilliance ink on the stamps. Trimmed out the panel and mounted it on some Pinefeather green card. Thats all there is to it! Happy Thursday!

A Little More Christmas

I am in love with this card. It was so easy to make and I love the way it looks. I started with a vintage cream base and then added a scarlet jewel panel that I stamped with Giga Guidelines in versamark. I stamped the mat stack on a die cut with scarlet jewel ink. I added a ribbon die cut stamped with my sentiment from fillable frames. I added some scarlet jewel buttons to finish things off.
I stamped the front of a cream linen envie to make a spot for the address.
I lined the envie with scarlet jewel in bloom paper. Oh how I love that envie liner die. Pure heaven! Thanks for stopping by today!

Star Ornament

Yesterday we were having a conversation over at the PTI board about making these star ornaments, so I decided to give it a try. Its basically 12 punched stars that are glued together at the points. Its much easier than it looks but it is fussy work putting it together. I used PTI's star prints, scarlet jewel ink, and vellum paper. I glued it together with 1/4 inch scor tape.

Do You Sense a Theme Here Lately?

I've got more tags today! These feature Waltzingmouse (that lovely polka dot) and Hero Arts (bird and sentiment). They are cut out with my nesties. I went all red for a simple look.

More Tags

P1050664
Good Morning! A couple more tags for you today! I made these using PTI's 2008 Tag set. The little holly leaf is from a Hero Arts clear set, not quite sure which one. But I love it because the berries are not green. LOL. Tag construction is pretty simple. The striped paper is from doodlebug- last year's Christmas line. Two sided velvet ribbon was a steal at Michaels (several Christmases ago). Thanks for stopping in!

Red Bird Tag

I love this tag! I totally CASED the tree and bird from this card by the talented Susan. It was a super easy tag to make. I started with the single tree from Through the Trees (PTI). I stamped it in Versamark and then embossed it in seafoam white. I added the bird and sentiment (Tiny Treats, PTI) with pure poppy ink. Next came a snippet of PTI white velvet ribbon, a pure poppy button, and some Martha Stewart red bakers twine. The whole thing is done up on a spring rain tag, made using PTI's tag die #2. Thanks for stopping in today!

One More Chocolate and Cream

P1050601
One last chocolate and cream creation. This one uses TT Christmas and rustic snowflake stamp sets. I used my new Victorian edge die from PTI as well. The snowflakes are done in versamark on dark chocolate. The little mittens got the copic treatment. Thats about it, super easy card.

I got an email from Nancy today. That means there will be more Shady Tree Studio goodness coming your way very soon. I can't wait! Love those stamps. Have a great weekend!

Sick

So I have been battleing this horrible cold for the past three days. I feel so awful. Its been chicken soup, hot tea, and sleep here. I can't stand not feeling good. Ugh! I do not make a good patient. Now that I have that little whine out of the way, let me show you today's card.
P1050599
Ive got a dark chocolate base. I added some faux stitching using WMS, Offbeat backgrounds. I have a red spellbinder lacey circle with a cream scallop on top. I stamped it with the label stamp from PTI Tiny Treat Valentine. I added the mittens and sentiment from TT Christmas. A little copic action, and we are all done.

Another Marigold

P1050592
I have a special place in my heart for marigolds. When I was growing up my mom had tons of them along the front walkway of our house. I remember pinching out the seeds after the flower had died and spreading them in the flower bed. One year I decided to spread them in the grass too. Imagine my mom's surprise when the following year we had marigolds springing up in the lawn! LOL
Today's card is very similar to the last one I posted. The marigold is colored differently, the background is white instead of kraft and I changed out the sentiment. Stamp sets are YOF:marigold, (PTI) and WMS Frame It. Thanks for stopping in!

Chocolate with Cream...

P1050600
Good Morning! Who stayed up late and got more stamping goodness from PTI? Me too! Can't wait til my package gets here! In the meantime... I have a card using Tiny Treats and Rustic snowflake. I started with a cream base and stamped my snowflakes in dark chocolate. I added some bazzill paper cut with my large scallop die and a piece of satin dark chocolate ribbon. Next I used the label from Tiny Treats Valentine and stamped it in red on cream. I added the little dear and happy holiday sentiment. Colored the dear with my copics, punched the whole thing out with my mega scallop punch and popped it up with pop dots. As far as cards go, pretty easy peasy!

Marigolds!

P1050593
Hi there! I made this a few days ago. Finally got a chance to ink up my Marigold stamp from PTI. I colored it with my copics of course. Interesting thing about marigolds is that their tips are usually a much different color than the rest of the flower. There are also many variations. I have colored three or four of these now-- I can't wait to share the others with you as well. I thought they paired very well with my Frame it set from Waltzingmouse stamps. I love the font Claire chose for that set, just perfect. Speaking of WMS, I have a another sweet card posted at the Waltzingmouse Makers blog today. Click here to check it out. Thanks for stopping in!

Christmasy Stuff

P1050594
Good Morning! I have lots of Christmasy, taggy, goodness for you today. I used PTI's fillable frame 9, die, and tiny treats set to create the dies above. Actually on the ones above my 10 year old daughter did most of the work. She cut them all out. I stamped the frames and images. She helped color with my spica pens. Didn't they come out cute? We have made dozens! Now I just need some baker's twine to put through the hole.
P1050596
This next tag I used PTI's tag die 2, and merry and bright stamp set. A little yellow stickles and some glittery spica pens spice things up a bit.
P1050597
A few more dies from Fillable Frame 9. The tiny trees are from Merry and Bright. Holly and Ornament from Tiny Treats. Tiny snowflake is from rustic snowflake. It was hooked to the handstamped by sentiment. I chopped it off. (GASP! I KNOW!) Thanks for stopping in on your Saturday!

Another Snowflake Card

P1050583
One more little snowflake card. Same sets as yesterday. The little bird is from Hero Arts. I covered him in red stickles. I wish I hadn't but oh well. Have a happy Veteran's day! Make sure to thank those Vets!

Peace, Love, Joy

P1050584
Good Morning Friends! Hey did you know its PTI count down week? Ah... my favorite time of the month. Although I am seriously running out of room for new stamps. I keep thinking I should sell some but then its like parting with my children... anyhow, I digress. Today's card is made with PTI Kraft. I stamped it with white using my rustic snowflake set. The wreath and sentiment are from Rustic Branches. Pretty simple and easy to mail- good qualities in a Christmas card. Thanks for coming by!

More Tiny Treat Tags

P1050581
Look at these little guys! Same idea as yesterdays tags but with these cute little gingerbread men and a little more embellishing. Hope you like!
Edit: I did use white gel pen on the gingerbread men. I like the uni signo broad (something like that!)

Tiny Treats Tag

P1050582
Hope you are not sick of Tiny Treats yet, I fear there is a lot more to come! LOL! Today I have a tag for you. I cut it out of kraft with my tag die. I stamped it up with lots of snowflakes from the set Rustic Snowflake (PTI). I inked the edges and then stamped the focal image and sentiment in black. A little help from the copics (go lightly here so it doesn't seep through) and you are all done!

Tiny Treat Gingerbread Man

P1050585
Another tiny treats card for you today. This one is very similar to yesterday's except a different color scheme. I think I actually made this one first.
Card Deets:
Stamps: PTI Tiny Treats Christmas
Card: Kraft, white (PTI)
Other: pure poppy ribbon, signo gel pen

Tiny Treats Christmas

P1050586
Oh how I love this set! There is not one image I don't like. This is a pretty simple card. Kraft base, TT Christmas stamps, palette virdian green ink, gel pen, pinefeather ribbon and button. Thats is, took me maybe 10 minutes to make.

WMS Frame It

Edit: Rebecca asked about exchange rate for WMS. WMS has a converter right there on the site. Exchange rates do change but as of today the Frame It set was approximately 23 US dollars. Which is a good deal! The shipping (if you don't take advantage of Claire's free shipping) is around 6 dollars (US). Either way a great deal for overseas shipping.
A couple of months ago both PTI and WMS came out with a set that had frames. PTI was a little earlier but I decided to wait for WMS and I am glad I did. I love the sentiments and the fonts so much more than the one from PTI. Claire just has a way with sentiments. Plus I got a couple quirky UK sentiments like "Cheerio!". I love that! WMS also had those cutie cupcakes that you see on the card above- its like a bonus.
This card is pretty simple. I figured out where the middle of the card was. I stamped the frame and sentiment. I came back in and stamped the cupcakes. I colored with my spica pens. It sparkles in real life, hard to see in the photo. Thats it, a cute card in about 5 minutes.

Just Believe Angel

This angel is from Shady Tree Studio's Just Believe set. I stamped it on some older MM patterned paper and cut it out. I paper pieced some of the details and then enhanced a bit with copic marker. I pieced her wings from PTI vellum. I colored the rest of her with my pastels. I made the "glow" with pastels too. The outside edge of the card is inked with chai ink from PTI.

Candle at Sunrise

I have another great image from Home for the Holidays, from Shady Tree Studio. This one is my favorite of the set I think. I like it even better than the cardinal. I love how big it is too, it really makes a statement. I stamped it on PTI white and colored it with my copics. I was thinking it was sunrise outside...so I have a pink and gold sky. I used a ton of markers, at least 15 or so. After I colored and trimmed the image I mounted it on a piece of PTI scarlet jewel. I added a little piece of pinefeather trim below. The sentiment is on the inside.

Red Cardinal

Nancy sent me another set called Home for the Holidays (probably because I was begging for it!). Its so gorgeous! If you like to color then this set is for you. No joke... I could color these images for hours! Yesterday I spent some time coloring the cardinal. I love this stamp. He is perfect for Christmas but really anytime of year as well. I stamped him on PTI white and then colored him with my copics and cut him out. I popped him up on dimensionals on this paper I found in my stash (sorry I have no clue of who makes it, but its OLD). I matted that onto some PTI Kraft and then lightly inked the edges. I love this card, which is not very humble of me to admit- but I do. Happy Monday!

Shady Studio Day 3

Hey there! Its release day at Shady Tree Studio! Time to go buy some cute stamps! I have two more cards for you today and then I will have one more tomorrow... once I started I couldn't stop. First up is Santa. Isn't he cute? I colored him with copics, cut him out and then used distress ink on the background. The cardstock is stamped with the snowflake stamp. I also used some vellum and linen ribbon (PTI).

The second card uses the adorable snowman image. He is stamped in dark chocolate and colored with copics. I used a berry sorbet base (PTI) with a blue lacy circle background (blue is bazzill, cut with spellbinders lacy circle die). I used the snowflake on the background here as well. I hope you enjoyed these! Now hop on over to STS and check out the full sets.

Shady Tree Studio Day 2

Hi there! Welcome back for day two of the Shady Tree Studio release. I am using stamps from the Just Believe set. One of the things I like about this set is the nice mix of sentiments and images. On this card I let the sentiment take the stage. I used my nesties to cut out a panel from the front of the card and then a smaller nestie to cut out a piece from some rustic cream cardstock. I stamped my sentiment in dark chocolate ink. I stamped the little star ornament on a second piece of card, colored it and cut it out. I popped it up with a pop dot. I inked it up with wild honey distress ink and popped it in the middle of the cut panel. I inked the main card with tea die from PTI. I love the way it came out and I hope you do too!
This second card uses this adorable little Christmas tree from the Just Believe set. It reminds me of the Charlie Brown Christmas tree, especially with that little blanket around it. I added some glitter to my copic coloring to glitz it up.
My background was made by weaving together scarlet jewel and ripe avocado ribbons (PTI). I matted my tree on some card cut with nesties. I love how this card came out. Especially the ribbon, its so pretty IRL. Come back tomorrow because I will have more awesome stuff from Shady Tree Studio. Also don't forget the rest of the design team. You can find the links on my side bar <-----------.

Shady Tree Studio - Day 1

Its release time again at Shady Tree Studio! Nancy has so many beautiful new designs for you! I will be featuring the set named Believe. If you like homey Christmas images, then this is the set for you. If you like to paper piece or color this is also the set for you. So much can be done with it. On this card I am using two stamps, the stocking (stamped 3x) and the sentiment. Look how large and yummy that stocking is? It works great alone or with "friends", LOL! I stamped it three times in Ranger Distress ink (Brushed Corduroy). I colored them pretty with my copics and added some bling to the hangers. I cut a piece of vellum and stamped the sentiment in Brushed Corduroy and then inked the edges. I used vellum tape to attach and then added two big rhinestones (K and Co.). I made the plaid on the stars using my blender pen- so fun and easy!
My second card also uses the stocking stamp. This time I embossed the cardstock with a Nestie die. Next I sponged on Ranger distress ink (brushed corduroy). I stamped my stocking on a separate piece, colored and cut it out. I made a hanger for it with some cute little buttons and twine and attached it with a tiny clothes pin (hero arts). I added the sentiment in red with a little bling. Hope you like it!
Thanks for stopping in! Also don't forget the big contest! You could win the entire release!

One Last Notebook and Some Randomness

Hi friends! I've got one last notebook for you today. Same basic layout, etc. I used PTI rustic cream cardstock, EchoPark paper, and Vintage Picnic and Take Note stamps from PTI. The picture isn't the greatest. I'm sorry about that, I don't think I will ever be a photographer.
Randomness:
I got the happy news that I am getting published again! I am so excited about that! It will be in Paper Craft's 225 Cards and Gifts. Its another gift box. I will be sure to be shouting from the roof tops when it comes out.
In other news it will be a quiet weekend on the blog as I will be at CSTA (California Science Teacher's Association) conference today and Saturday. We also have weekend guests, 2 soccer games, and one school harvest festival. I feel tired just thinking about it!
MONDAY- I will have the first of the sneaks for Shady Tree Studio's latest release. I already have everything made up, taking photos this weekend. You are going to like these stamps. Super cute. Sneaks will run Mon, Tues, and Wed. Release will happen on Wednesday, October 27th. See y'all Monday!
