Dahlias x 3

Hi! Happy Wednesday! Its still chilly here in Northern California. I was hoping for a warm spring break, but I don't think I am going to get it. Today I have for you three dahlias mounted on True Black card stock. I used some primas for the leaves and I tied on a green ribbon from Michaels. Aside from coloring the dahlias this one went together really fast. There is also some scoring around the ribbon so I could use this for the PTI Princess challenge number 4. I am so behind on my challenges!

Daffodils

Hi! Thanks for stopping in! Today I have a new card featuring new PTI products. I just got a delivery yesterday! Nothing makes me happy like new stamps! The base of this card is Hawaiian Shores cardstock. Its such a pretty, happy color. The lighter aqua is Aqua mist stamped with Hawaiian shores ink using PTI polkadot basics. The daffodil is from the new Year of the Flowers: Daffodil set. I stamped it in dark chocolate and colored it with my copics. The easiest flower I have ever colored, seriously. The one was my very first attempt. Fairly easy to cut out too. The sentiment is from Butterfly dreams. Thanks for taking the time to come by!

Dahlias

Hey there! I am back! Today I have for you a card using my newest PTI acquisition, Delightful Dahlias. Have you looked at Dahlia pictures on the net? These flowers come in every color combination imaginable! Perfect for copic coloring! There are some beautiful varigated Dahlias out there too, which inspired todays card. The Dahlias are stamped in black and colored with copics. Same for the leaves. The card base is stamped with Pure Poppy using PTI's Tin Type. I then layered on three shades of PTI twill (poppy, summer sunrise, and orange zest). The sentiment is stamped in poppy.
Here's a coloring close up. These are so much fun to do, but I would say there is a bit of learning curve. My first three tries turned out hideous. Like in the trash, hideous.
Here are the copics I used, oops ones missing! Its YR04. Sorry about that! Happy Sunday! Thanks for stopping by!

An Update

So sorry the blog has been blank all week. I haven't had time to make a single pretty thing. I have made several ugly Dahlias-- but thats another story! I have been sitting at my pretty desk, but little is being made... probably because I have only been able to sit for like 5 minutes at a time. Things are very busy here! Both the kids are playing sports right now, so lots of practices. Both of our mother's are coming to visit in the next week so lots of cleaning going on! Can't have my mother knowing I am living in filth! Throw in work and PTA and you have a busy girl. I am hoping to have some cards up over the weekend. Thanks for stopping by! I love seeing that I have readers, makes me smile :)

New Crafty Table

I am so excited! I got a new craft table for my stuff! My crafting area is in my living room... boy do I wish I had a room of my own. I got this desk at pier one. Its counter top height, so I am going to be in the market for a stool soon. I love the color and the wood look to the top.
But the best part are these cubbies! Cubbies for all my goods! The shelves are adjustable and quite roomie! Lots of room for so much stuff!
And the other side. More cubbies, more stuff. Not sure if this is the final arrangement. My living room is a bit of a mess right now. We are in the process of looking for some new sofas or chairs. The old ones left on the last dump day. They were so mangled we couldnt even sell them.

Hi there! Happy St. Patrick's Day! Claire over at Waltzingmouse stamps is hosting a St. Patrick's Day Blog hop. You can find all the details here. She is also giving away some gorgeous digi stamps. I am not a fan of digi but they are gorgeous! Definitely worth the download. I have some lovely Waltzingmouse stamps so I chose to use those instead. I have two shots of my card. I like the lighting in the first one, but the second shows the card all the way closed. Anyway- same card, two pics.
The paper and ribbon is from PTI. The ink is by Palette. The label stamp and the lovely shamrock are by Waltzingmouse stamps (two different sets). The interior stamp is also by Waltzingmouse. The sentiment is from Studio G- I have had it for years! The small dotty circle is from PTI's Dot Spot. I don't normally do St. Patty's day but I thought I would give it a whirl this time. Thanks so much for stopping in!

A Pink Hello

Hello! Happy Monday to you! Today I have a sweet little card I made with PTI's Background Basics: Tin Types. It looks hard to line up but its not! Its super easy. The white scallop was cut with their large scallop die. I used a circle from Borders and Corners Circles on each scallop. The tiny hello is from the original mixed messages. That ribbon is one I picked up at Michaels ages ago. Thanks for stopping in!

Hello Friend

Hi and Happy Sunday! Its a gorgeous day here in Northern California. I am about to go out and pull some weeds... they are choking my rose bush. Note thats rose bush- singular. I am not good at keeping things alive. I have one rose bush. Its a miniature and I am very proud to say I have kept it alive for the better part of two years. My how quickly I digress... anyway I have some flowers for you today. They are from Floral Frenzy by PTI. I stamped them in orange zest and aquamist. I used my white gel pen for some pop. The leaves are spring moss ink. They are from PTI's Turning a New Leaf. Well I have to go get to gardening! Thanks for stopping by!

Another Violet

Hey there! Happy Saturday! I have another Violet for you today. I will admit I have been practicing my coloring on these guys, they are so challenging! I stamped this violet on PTI white in dark chocolate and then went to town with my copics. I did the same with the leaves. Next I cut them all out. For the base I used PTI Enchanted Evening. I stamped it with versa mark. I used my scallop die on some PTI linen vellum. I then stamped with the sentiment from violets in Enchanted Evening. I added a little row of pearls to set it off.
Here is a close up of the flower. I really like this one. It took quite a while to color it, lots of layers of color here, even on the leaves. Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping in.

Dot Spot Wish

Variation on the previous blue card. The only thing I dont like is my g drops below the line and then you cant see it well on the white. I would do that a big differently. I always freak out when I write on my cards. I like my handwriting but I just fear messing up. Anyway sometimes handwriting is fun. Cardstock here is Raspberry fizz, with raspberry fizz ink and white gel pen.

Dot Spot Hello

Spring Rain cardstock and ink, dot spot stamp, blue rhinestones, and white gel pen. Simple and easy to do... except I kept getting the white squares inky... I threw out at least 5 of them! LOL! Well I had a long day and I am off to bed, thanks for coming by!

Hello Violet

Good morning! Today I have for you an orange violet, LOL. I guess its a pansy. Whatever it is I like it in this orange color scheme. The large flower really lends its self to creating interesting backgrounds. I stamped the large flower in orange zest on Kraft. Next I stamped the smaller flower on white with dark chocolate. I colored it up with my copic markers. I stamped the frame in Orange zest and added the sentiment in orange as well. A little swiss dot orange zest ribbon finishes things off. All supplies PTI.
Close up of the flower, now you can see the yellow stickles in the middle. Thanks for stopping by! Have a fabulous Tuesday!

Compose a Card with Becky

Trying out a new challenge today. It's Compose a Card with Becky. These kinds of challenges are harder for me because I never start with a sketch or predetermined mats, etc. Almost like working backwards for me. Anyway you can view all the details here. Basically it was the colors of enchanted evening and soft stone, enchanted evening as the base and stone as the mat. You needed to use satin ribbon and white embossing powder as well. Couple of things... I dont own any PTI soft stone paper (I KNOW! Shocking!) so I had to use some paper from my stash (not as good). Also I dont own Enchanted Evening Satin so I used the EE Bitty Dots satin, it was as close as I could get. The stamp set is Dot Spot and fillable frame (sentiment). You were suppose to use a button... I was going to but the pearl looked way better so there it is.... sorry, I have never been much for following the rules.
