Great Cat Friends

Hello Friends! I've got a new little card for you today.  A couple of cute cats from Hero Arts.
IMG_0023
Bought this set on a whim at my LSS.  I have a feeling it was on sale.  The sentiments are from Hero Arts as well and those I paid full price for.  I colored the cats with my copic makers.  Hadn't colored in awhile and just felt like doing something relaxing that wouldn't let me eat at the same time.  I am trying to reduce the old size here.  Reading and t.v. watching drive to the snackage but coloring not so much.  Anyway back to the card- Doodlebug paper, PTI ribbon and cardstock.  That sums it up!  Have a great week friends!

Hey New Stuff!

Hard to believe eh?  I got nothing in the way of excuses.  I've made plenty of cards- just kind of lost interest in photographing them.  I've lost interest in many of things I used to do regarding paper crafting but I haven't lost interest in card making.  I knocked out 10 cards last night.  I took crappy photos of 5 to share with some friends on Facebook.  And then I thought hey why not update the old blog?  So here I am!
Untitled
Of course I shot this with my iphone- and its unedited. I make no promises of greatness here. I am not branding myself, I am certainly not trying to be the next big thing.  Sometimes I have to remind myself of that.  Especially when blogging becomes a "job" and I find myself comparing my blog to others.   Anyway, I digress!   Here is the card.  I know just who I am sending this too.  Hopefully I will find a stamp before too many days go by.   The paper is from one of the millions of 6x6 pads I unearthed on my desk.  It's double sided, if I hazarded a guess I'd say Echo Park but I am not positive and you should know by now I am to lazy to go look!  The owl stamp is from Hero Arts.  I bought it separated from the main set so I can't help you there.  The chevron stamp on the far right is from PTI- simple squares or something like that.  The friend stamp is also from Hero Arts.

One Card 4 Ways

Hello!  Happy New Year's Eve!  Its the last post of 2012!  I had a little crafty time the other day and I ended up using the same image 4 ways.  I snapped some photos and thats what I have for you this evening.  For all versions I am using PTI cardstock in white and blueberry sky.  I am using versamark ink, white embossing powder, blueberry sky ink, and pure poppy ink.  The image is from PTI Through the Trees.  The tag is from hero arts.  The sentiment is from PTI Through the Trees.
P1070685
Version One:  For version one I matted the image on white card and rounded the corners.  I adhered the tag to the bottom of the image.  I wrapped the twine (Crate and Barrel) around the card several times and tied a bow.  I added red stickles to the bird.  I used red bling on the flowers (hard to see the red in these pics- sorry I am no photographer).
 P1070684
Version Two:  I broke the rule of three by only having one red thing (the bird).  I covered the bird in stickles.  I added blue bling at the bottom.
 P1070683
Version Three:  I used my snowflake CB folder on the base.  I added blueberry sky grosgrain ribbon and red buttons.  I covered the bird in stickles.
 P1070682
Version Four:  I think this may be my favorite.  I used swiss dot CB folder on the base.  I rounded the base corners and also the blue corners.  I covered the bird in stickles and added stickles to the flower centers.  I used saddle stitch pure poppy ribbon.

Well what do you think?  Which is your favorite?  I have to say since I did all the stamping first and embossed all at once these came together very quickly.  Might make a nice giftset.  All you would need is a little box or something.  Thanks as always for stopping by!  I hope 2013 is good to you!

Thanks a Million

Hello out there???  Sorry I have left you hanging for like ever!  December got the best of me this year!  I have made so much stuff and took pictures of none of it!  I was making it and sending it out the door!  Things were a total whirlwind.  But anyway I am back with a sad iphone pic!  Not even a nice edited picture for you but hey its the thought that counts.  Anyway a clean and simple one color card that I made with some new stamps I got.  The tag is from hero arts and it came with a matching die.  Love it!  The die has the middle popped out so its so easy to line up.  The stamps are cling- not my favorite but still they work fine.  Everything else is from PTI and the color is scarlet jewel.  That is the original (1st version) ink.  I love it.  If you are still out there reading I am hoping to get back to blogging soon.  Thanks for hanging in there with me!

Hello Birds

Have a little card for you today featuring Hero Arts stamps (sorry no clue of the set- too lazy to go look).  The Hello sentiment is from PTI Fillable frames.  Assorted patterned paper from stash.  White gel pen, black copic liner.  Thats about it!  Thanks for stopping in.  I know the updates have been sporadic.  I am toying with the idea of no longer blogging.  I hate that I can't keep it up like I used to but I have so much going on this always goes to the back burner.  Anyway... until next time.

Christmas Tags and a Christmas Cat

Hello blog friends! I am back from my whirlwind trip to Oregon for one last goodbye to my grandfather. I have some more tags for you today. Like I said before, I was a tag making machine a few weekends ago.
P1060647
This first tag uses stamps from hero arts and a whole lot of paper piecing. Its way to fussy to mass produce. I made exactly one. The tag die is from PTI.
P1060651
Tag 2 uses an older set from PTI- Take a Bough. Love that set. Can not sell it, even though I think I should sometimes because I have so many Christmas sets. I am a sucker, what can I say. P1060643
Finally I give you my cat Tiger, Santa Cat. He is sitting with my daughter. I don't think he is too pleased at the turn of events. But he was a good sport.

Hello

P1060531 Hello friends!  I actually have a card for you today!  I made this with some new patterned paper I picked up at my LSS last weekend.  The fruit paper is from doodlebug and the polka dot from cottage press.   They were both in 6x6 collections.  The stamped fruits are from hero arts.  A cute little small set that I do not know the name of.  I think the sentiment was in the same set.  Its based on a sketch from Papercrafts mag.  Thats all I got.  Thanks for stopping by!

Butterflys

P1060272
Hello friends! By the time you see this I will be in Moss Landing. I can't wait! This is probably the last of the scheduled posts... I am not sure but I think its the last I am going to get done. I will be home and crafting again July 1.
P1060271
Everything here is PTI, except for the butterfly. The butterfly is from Hero Arts. I love that set. Its called Antique Engravings. Its a relatively new set. The sentiments are from Vintage Picnic. The paper is all PTI. Thanks for continuing to visit while I am on the road! See you soon!

Sea Shore Card Gift Set

Hello there friends! I am off in Colorado but I left you some eye candy! I made these cards just because. I don't even have a planned recipient yet and I haven't gotten around to making a box or envies either.
P1060269
The seashells come from the same Hero Arts set that has those pretty butterflies. Its called Antique Engravings (I think...). The sentiments are from PTI Vintage Picnic. I stamped in dark chocolate and then colored with my copics.
P1060268
The base card is PTI ocean tides. The pp is from My Minds Eye. Its a bit older. The paper with the stamping rustic cream.
P1060270
A close up for you. Easy peasy coloring, trust me on this. Have a great day!

Another Butterfly Card

Same basic card as the ones in the boxed set from a few days ago. The big difference is the kraft background. The flowers are stamped with TH distress inks and PTI chai ink. The butterfly is colored with copic markers. The butterfly is from Hero Arts (Antique Engravings) and the flowers are from PTI's Life.

Teacher Gifts- Butterfly Card Set

Hi Friends! I have something pretty for you today! Its one of those things I don't want to give away! That happens on occasion! This is a gift set for my daughter's teacher. P1060241 Lets start at the beginning shall we? This box is made from two pieces of paper; a piece of kraft cardstock and a piece of vellum. I am using PTI vellum which is much thicker than any other vellum I have worked with. I don't think it would work so well with a flimsy vellum. It would work fine with clear acetate. P1060242 Making the box is pretty simple. Simply take the size of your card (mine was 4.25 x 5.5) and add a quarter of an inch. So that would be 4.5 x 5.75. Then add an inch to all sides. So now we are at 6.5 x 7.75, with me so far? Cut your cardstock to be 6.5 x 7.75. Score at 1 inch on all sides. Cut into two of the short lines on the two long sides so that you can fold up your little box. Clip the corners at a diagonal so they don't peak out. Now before you glue it together stamp your little sides. Keep in mind that the fold is the bottom, that way when you put it together it will all be right side up. (yes, I have ruined many a box with upside down stamping). Ok now for the vellum piece. This is a little trickier. First of all it needs to be just a hair smaller because the lid tucks in the box not over it. So remove about an 1/8th of inch from the original measurements form the bottom. Fraction time! LOL I just cut mine to the original (6.5x7.75) then I scooch it over and take off an eighth of an inch from the width and the length. Now go score that puppy at one inch on all sides. Cut into it the same way and give a test fit. Does it fit perfectly? If so slap on some score tape. If it poofs upwards to much go back and trim a little off the sides, then slap on the score tape. Ok box is done!
P1060243 Moving on to cards and envies. If ever there was a time for a decorated envie, its now! Lets do that first cause its easier. Select your envie. Stamp a coordinating stamp on the flap. Then turn it over and use an adorable fillable frame for the addressee portion and a cute little matching stamp in the corner. Repeat for all envies.P1060245
Last but not least, we have the cards. Cut your paper and score it. I am using rustic white by PTI. Stamp the background with a variety of brown inks. I am using Life stamp set by PTI and distress inks in vintage photo and brushed corduroy. I am also using PTI chai ink. When the backgrounds are done go dig up some scraps of cream colored or white cardstock. Stamp the butterfly as many times as you have cards (and maybe one more in case you screw up). Color the butterflies with your copic markers (or color medium of choice). I used stamps by Hero Arts. Dark chocolate ink and copic markers. Go stamp the butterfly on each of your cards. Cut out the butterflies that you colored. Go ahead and cut off the antennae, you will use the ones on the cards. Adhere your colored butterflies over the stamped ones. That's it! Cards are done. Put the cards in the box, top with the lid. Tie on a pretty coordinating bow ( I used PTI terracotta tile satin). Make yourself a cute tag using a butterfly (color it pretty) and a fillable frame. Glue em together, punch a hole and tie on some twine. If you measure carefully (ha I did not!), and don't drop anything in an ink pad (who, me?) you should finish this in about an hour or so. Have fun!

More Tags

P1050664
Good Morning! A couple more tags for you today! I made these using PTI's 2008 Tag set. The little holly leaf is from a Hero Arts clear set, not quite sure which one. But I love it because the berries are not green. LOL. Tag construction is pretty simple. The striped paper is from doodlebug- last year's Christmas line. Two sided velvet ribbon was a steal at Michaels (several Christmases ago). Thanks for stopping in!

Owls Like Books!

Good Morning! I have a couple of new things to show you today. I hope you like them. I was a busy little bee at my craft table yesterday. I am making bookmarks for the first day of school. I am hoping that my fellow teachers will like them as much as I do. These bookmarks are so easy too, with a little help from the PTI bookmark die.I cut the bookmark out of Aquamist cardstock. The patterned paper is brand new and from a company called EchoPark. I had never heard of them before. I picked it up at my LSS. The owl on the bookmark is from Hero Arts. The sentiment is from PTI All Booked Up. The scalloped circle is from PTI Boxes, Bags, and Tags.
Here I have a little card you could give away with the Bookmark. I have a variety of stamps on here as well. The owl is from PTI Wise Owl. The little flower is from With Sympathy. One sentiment is from All Booked Up and the other is from Wise Owl. I have more pp from Echo Park and an aquamist base. Its double sided paper. The trees have that wavy brown on the back and the flowers have the green polka dot. Thanks for stopping in today!

Owl

Isn't this little owl the cutest. I bought him at my LSS with a little butterfly... I think they may have been taken out of a larger set. I believe he is from Hero Arts. I also used some PTI stamps on this project. The dots and sentiment are from Round and Round. The frame on the envie is Fillable Frames 6. I really did up the envie for this card so I thought I would show it in the picture.
I also did up the inside which is something I dont often do. The sentiment here is from Inside and Out: Thank You. The butterfly came with the owl.
Finally I took some scraps and made a second card, very similar to the first. The inside is exactly the same. The dimensions of the second card are slightly smaller and more square. The white piece was made with fillable frame 1 die. The wings on the owl are paper pieced, as is the butterfly.

Christmas Three

I have for you more simple cards featuring PTI, Waltzingmouse, and Hero Arts. The fancy border is by Waltzingmouse Stamps (link over in the side bar). Its part of Label One set. The sentiment and stockings are from PTI. The little holly sprig is from Hero Arts. I love that sprig because you can easily color the berries. The ornament on the first card is from PTI's Take a Bough. Everything stamped on PTI white cardstock.
