Stitches and Swirls

Merry Christmas and Hello friends!  Its been awhile.  I've been knee deep in 7th grade curriculum and grading.  Haven't touched an ink pad for most of the school year.  However, Christmas break has given me some relax time which has been great!  Yay for a little free time!
IMG_1602
I give you a card!  I used Stitches and Swirls from PTI.  I colored it with my copics.  While coloring I realized many of my pens are dry so of course I needed to place a large refill order.  Getting those pens filled back up soon!  Colors here are Lime Ice and Berry Sorbet (PTI).  I've got stickles on the flowers which is showing up a bit weird in the picture.  Thanks for taking the time to stop in!

Noel

Hello Friends!  Greetings from me, she who has been absent due to a crushing workload, to you!
image
I have finally made something!  I am still in shock over that.  I know its not much but when you haven't had any time to do anything, even the smallest, simplest cards seem like an accomplishment.  This card is all PTI.  The stamps are from the newly released Tinsel and Tags kit.  I have to say the stamp design is genius and I hope I get a chance to ink them again.  Hopefully before Christmas!  Thanks for stopping by!

Daffodil Thank You

image
Greetings friends!  Today I have a copic colored card for you.  Its been awhile since I last had my pens out!  Heck the crafty supplies haven't seen much use at all lately!  So much going on in my life!  Let me get the card deets out of the way and then I will catch you up.  First off, this card uses two PTI sets:  Year of the Flowers, Daffodil and Background Basics, Tin Type.  I stamped both in dark chocolate ink.  The base of the flower in white and the base of the card is fine linen.  I cut the flower out using the coordinating die.  I colored it with Y13,Y15,Y17, and Y18.  The stem/leaves are colored with YG23 and YG25.  The sentiment is from Thanks All Ways (I think...).  The washi tape is from WRMemories and the sequins are doodlebug.
RANDOMNESS:  So I've been busy starting a new teaching job at a new school.  I've changed both grades and subjects.  I am now teaching 7th grade ELA/History and an elective focused on merging technology and science and writing.  I am super excited but wow, so much work!  Anyway the workload will definitely be keeping me busy especially when school starts on the 2nd.
Leaving my old school was really hard (but a good decision I think!).  I was there 17 years!  Craziness. My principal retired last year and I decided it was time for a change.  Speaking of that, when she retired I drew her this picture of the front of the school and colored it with my copics.  Its 8.5x11 inches.  I framed it for her.  She loved it!  IMG_0226
I really enjoyed doing it.  Sometimes we get so busy we totally forget to do the things we love.  I love to draw.  Thanks for stopping in today!

Seriously...

image
Hello friends!  Today I have a CAS card I made with stamps from Lil' Inkers.  First I cut the seriously with their new die.  I love this die.  LOVE it!  Easy to use and so versatile.  Next I stamped the sentiment using Memento black.  I added strips of patterned paper (Echo Park), some more Lil' Inkers stamps, and some stickles.  Quick and fun.  Thanks for stopping in!

Sunflowers

image
Hello friends!  Today I have another Thank you card for you.  I used PTI's sunflower set and a sentiment from Inside and Out: Thank You.  I stamped the sunflowers in multiple sizes and colors.  Next I added some greenery.  Finally I added two different colors of stickles in the middles of the flowers and stamped the sentiment.  Quick and easy, except for the stickle drying time.

Little Bitty Bird Thanks

image
Hello friends.  I have a little bitty bird thank you card today.  One layer, three colors.  Simple and easy.  I needed a ton of thank yous after we had a small house warming party.  My friends are so sweet and brought me fun little gifts.  I went to my stash for thank yous but all I found were birthday.  Isn't that how it always is?  You never have what you need!  Anyway time was of importance so I whipped up a few of these guys.  I love bitty bird!  Thanks for stopping in!

I am Back!

image
Hello friends!  Well we are all moved in.  The craft room has been set up and things are getting back to normal.  I've made a few things but most of them have been in the envelope and out the door before I could even think about a picture.  However, I do have something for you today.  The thank you card uses all PTI- Framed Out and Butterfly stamps and die.  Canyon clay, summer sunrise, and hawaiian shores ink.  Thanks for stopping in and I hope I will be back to regular posting soon.

RIP Duncan - A Tribute to My Kitty

Sorry to have the latest post be sad and full of my kitty instead of cards.  But I wanted to give my little Duncan a proper tribute.  Duncan passed away after developing intestinal cancer.  It was not treatable and we made the decision to put him down after his quality of life was no longer good.  He had stopped eating and drinking- it was clearly time.

Duncan came into our lives after my cat Frank had passed away.  I found Duncan at Petsmart.  He was in the LapCats Rescue adoption center.  He was so big, fat and grey.  He looked calm and content.  He was already six years old so I thought he would be pretty mellow.  You can read about when we brought him home here.  Here is one of the first pictures of him.  We had him for 7 years and it wasn't nearly long enough.  Once he got over his shyness he was the best cat ever.  He was easy going, not bothered by the vacuum or the loud kids.  He was good with babies and toddlers.  He didn't have a problem with dogs.  He was perfectly house broken.  The worse thing I remember him doing was scratching up the carpet on the stairs and my couch.  He slept with me everynight.  His purrs and snores so loud you could actually hear him from downstairs.  He was so fat when he jumped off the bed he made the floor shake.  He always came when you called him.  He loved to lay on my head and try to paw my face to wake me up.  If he was out of food he would not leave you alone until you got him some.  He refused all wet food but loved the dry kibble.  He drank his water by dipping in a paw and then licking the liquid off.  His tongue often poked out like a dogs.  I will miss so many of those things.  Even though my house still has plenty of animals, I will miss him and his personality that was uniquely his.  Below are some pictures of Duncan throughout the time we had him.

About to Go on Hiatus....

image
Hello Lovelies!  Here's the last post for a good few weeks- maybe months!  We are moving and today I am packing up all my lovely card making supplies.  I am so sad.  Not to be moving but to be putting all my crafty goodness into boxes.  Once I am unpacked and settled we will be back in business.  Until then I leave with the last thing I made in my old house.  Its one of a set of science cards that will be given to my daughter's science teacher.  I used stamps from There She Goes.  I love this set even more than I love PTI's science set.  Its my absolute fave.  I colored with copics and added stickles and called it done!  Thanks for stopping in!

Original Artwork Hibiscus Card

Hello friends!  So happy to report I finally got around to scanning and coloring one of my drawings.  I am so glad I scanned it first because while I like how this came out I really want to try another color combo and maybe some colored pencils.  Here I used copics.  I printed the drawing on PTI cardstock.  The sentiment is one of my favorites from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

Original Artwork

Hello friends!  I have some pictures for you today of some of my sketches.  I've been sketching again (after not sketching for about 15 years) and really enjoying it.  I noticed about 6 months ago that my son was really showing an interest and aptitude for drawing and I bought him a sketchpad and some art pencils to encourage him.  Next I started teaching him how to look for shapes and shadows and the next thing I knew the urge for me to draw was impossible to ignore so it was back to the store to pick up another sketch book!  lol!  And here we are, me drawing and oh so happy about it!  Thanks for stopping in today!

Hello There!

IMG_0086
Hello Friends!  Another punched paper card for you today!  I used my circle punch and a tag die from PTI to complete this project.  The floral stamps are from Floral Fusion and Mini Blooms (both PTI).  The patterned paper is from that same Doodlebug pad I've been wearing out the last few days.  Finally got my money's worth from a 6x6 pad.

More Rainbow Dots

Hello Friends! More rainbow dots today.  Not sure how I feel about this one.  I like it and then I don't.  I wish that black and white cake was just a wee bit smaller.  I have a smaller cake stamp but its packed up in storage because we sold our house and will be on the move soon....  Anyhow this card has Doodlebug 6x6 patterned paper, PTI building blocks basics stamp set, and PTI tag it stamp set.
  IMG_0083
and here is the inside of the card.  I rarely do up the inside but in this case I am glad I did.  I love the inside.  I can almost see reversing the inside and outside.  Ah, decisions, decisions!  Have a great day friends.

Great Cat Friends

Hello Friends! I've got a new little card for you today.  A couple of cute cats from Hero Arts.
IMG_0023
Bought this set on a whim at my LSS.  I have a feeling it was on sale.  The sentiments are from Hero Arts as well and those I paid full price for.  I colored the cats with my copic makers.  Hadn't colored in awhile and just felt like doing something relaxing that wouldn't let me eat at the same time.  I am trying to reduce the old size here.  Reading and t.v. watching drive to the snackage but coloring not so much.  Anyway back to the card- Doodlebug paper, PTI ribbon and cardstock.  That sums it up!  Have a great week friends!

Sequins

Who knew I could like sequins?  When they first started popping up I totally did not get the attraction.  But now?  Now I am in love...  Its like when I first found stickles.
Untitled
Card 1- Hawaiian Shores Cardstock, PTI Building Blocks stamps, assorted sequins.  About as CAS as it gets.
Untitled
Card 2- New Leaf, Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise inks, assorted sequins, diamond stickles, PTI Building blocks stamps.  I wish you could see this one in person because the sparkle word is so sparkly!! I covered it in stickles in a splatter pattern.  There are also dots of stickles as well.

Thanks...

What's that?  A third day of posting?  How can it be?   Haha!  I made a few cards recently and actually took pictures- simple as that.  Today I have for you a Thank You card.  I am constantly in need of thank you cards.
image
This card is mostly pattern paper.  I'd love to tell you which pad but I am so lazy that I am not going to go dig for it.  I think its by Carta Bella.  The squares are from PTI square prints- stamped in Summer Sunrise, Berry Sorbet, and kraft.  The sentiment is from WMS.  Some little sequins from my LSS and its all done.  Thanks for stopping by!

Sequin Leaves

Wow two days in a row!  Is the world coming to an end or something?  I have another little CAS card for you today.  I finally hopped on the sequin band wagon.
image
The birds and tree are from Clearly Besotted.  I love that all the birds in the set are mirror images of each other.  I have been looking for a set like that for a long time.  The sentiment is from WMS Compact Sentiments.  Ink from PTI- blueberry sky and kraft.  Sequins from my LSS.

Inspired by....

Hello friends!  I have a card for you today inspired by something I saw on Nichole Heady's blog.  Its on this post but you may have to scroll down a bit.  Anyway I just loved the way the flowers looked with that bit of masking in the center.
image
So here is my take.  I used PTI's new set, Garden Gate for the flowers and WMS say it loud for the sentiment.  Berry Sorbet, New Leaf, and Summer Sunrise inks, with the sentiment in Kraft.  Simple one layer card.

Polka Dot Card and Tag

image
Hello friends!  Today I have for you one card of a set I made.  I unfortunately deleted the pictures of all the other cards and cute packaging.  The set was auctioned off at our chili lunch.  So all I have left is this one sad little picture.  I might recreate this set because it was fun to make.  I used PTI's Polka dot basics, fillable frames, cardstock, ribbon, tag sale die, and buttons.  The big sentiment on the tag (one of my favorites!) is from Waltzingmouse's compact sentiments.

Next up is a cute little gift bag.

 image
Here is the thing I am really proud of!  My little vellum pocket for the card!  Genius and super easy! Adhere thick vellum on 3 sides to your Kraft bag.  Slide in your card!  Easy peasy and cute!  Matching tag was cut with a PTI die.  Its stamped with Baby Button Bits and Polka Dot basics.

Birthday Circles

image
Hello Friends! I've got a birthday card for you today.  I made the background with polka dot basics and simple circles from PTI.  Hand cut banner with a sentiment from Wonderful Words (I think) also from PTI.  Colors used: Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, New Leaf, and Blueberry Sky.  I got the background idea from something I saw on Nichole Heady's blog awhile back.  Sorry I can't link you to the original.  I can't find it.

Cute Little Tag

image
Hi Friends!  Today I have a fun little tag for you.  You are probably seeing the double tag all over the place- I thought I would give it a try.  I double cut the PTI tag 1 die from both patterned paper and cardstock.  Then I shortened the cardstock layer and gave it a scalloped edge.  A little stamping, a little ribbon and we are good to go!
image
And here it is all put together!  So pretty!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Thank You!

image
Hi Friends! Happy New Year!  I hope 2014 is starting off well for you all!  This is the first card I've made this year.  I used all PTI product.  I stamped the stitched flowers in white ink on Blueberry Sky cardstock.  I then added some shading with a white pencil.  A few red rhinestones finish things off.  The banner is PTI bitty boxes paper stamped with a sentiment from a special Thank You set from a few years ago.  Thanks for stopping by- I know the posts are few and far between.  Blogging has taken the back burner for me the past six months.  My life is a bit chaotic at the moment so I don't see blogging coming back to the forefront any time soon but I do appreciate you checking in on me!
