More Watercolors

Cards
Good Morning friends!  I got together with a friend yesterday for some card making and now have a few new things to show you.  Above I have a little sunrise scene that I drew and colored with Zig Clean Color markers.  I used watercolor paper.  I added some Maya Road twine and a sentiment from PTI.

Here we have a little beach scene.  Again colored with the Zig markers on watercolor paper.  Maya Road twine and PTI sentiment.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Rainbow dots

Hello Friends!  I've been on a rainbow kick ever since picking up that Doodlebug paper pad.  Today I have a bunch of punched circles on a black card for you.  I love this card.  I don't think I can give it away.  Ha!  All doodlebug paper except for the PTI sentiment!  Have a great day!

Birthday Circles

image
Hello Friends! I've got a birthday card for you today.  I made the background with polka dot basics and simple circles from PTI.  Hand cut banner with a sentiment from Wonderful Words (I think) also from PTI.  Colors used: Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, New Leaf, and Blueberry Sky.  I got the background idea from something I saw on Nichole Heady's blog awhile back.  Sorry I can't link you to the original.  I can't find it.

Step It Up

So today I have something a little different.  I have the same basic card done two ways.  The first card is the more basic look.  Less stuff going on, a little more plain.  I made this one first.  When I was done with it, I liked it but I didn't like it enough.  So I tried again and came up with card number 2.

Untitled

In this card I changed one of the flowers out to a bigger stamp.  I changed position of the stamps and the ribbon.  The border is smaller and the flowers have copic coloring.  I also added a second smaller sentiment.  Both cards are the same colors and feature buttons and stickles in the flowers.  Both are mounted on foam tape.

Stars (Boy Birthday)

IMG_2713
Good Morning friends!  I apologize for my bad photography today!  Off center and everything- sheesh!  Anyway I did want to show you a fun little card for a boy birthday.  I used star prints from PTI.  The rest is pretty self explanatory I think.  If you have questions, just shoot me an email.
IMG_2711
This next card could go either way.  Colors are certainly boy enough but I'd probably lose the pearls and maybe that scrolly stamp too.  This card uses all PTI- the medallion is from Round Repeats and the border is from their $5 border collection (can't remember the actual name and no time to go look).  Anyhow that is it for me today!  Hope Monday treats you well!

Long Time, No Write

Hello there!  It's been awhile!  I've totally lost the blogging bug.  I have made so many cards and I haven't photographed at all, let alone uploaded!  But today my little family left for a few days without me and I was sitting around procrastinating when I thought: "Hey lets upload some of these cards!"  So here I am.
IMG_2538
This card features some stamps from Papertrey Ink.  Round Repeats and birthday words (not sure that is the real title).  I love Round Repeats.  I am crazy about pattern building stamps.  Paper and ink also by PTI- Hawaiian Shores and New Leaf.

Some New Cards

Untitled
Hello Friends!  Its been awhile!  I've been busy making cards but still not so busy photographing, editing, or uploading.  I have lots of things going on right now and just haven't really had the time to devote to blogging.  Today though I have two iphone pics to share with you.  Both sets feature the latest PTI Anniversary Set- Birds and Blooms.  Many people said they didn't like the wreath because its not symmetrical- that is one of the things I love about it.  I also love that all the flowers can be different colors.  Its a four step stamp and once you get the hang of it its quite easy to put together.  The sentiment is one of the Think Big Favorites (no clue which, sorry).
Untitled
This card uses the same set but the branch instead of the wreath. The nest is two steps.    That wide ribbon is from American Crafts.    Thanks for stopping in today!  Hope it won't be too long before I have something new!

PTI Make It Monday- Glitter Accents

Hello friends!  It appears I am on a roll- three days, three posts- perhaps the secret is my iphone photos.  No editing and no uploading saves on time.  I can go straight from my phone to flickr to my blog.  I sacrifice quality but well at least I have something to show right?
Untitled
Here is today's card in all its unedited glory, LOL.  I made the glitter accents using PTI's star border die.  The stamps are from their new birthday sentiment set that was released last month.  I am using Aqua Mist paper with Hawaiian Shores Ink.  The glitter is WOW from American crafts.  I just picked up a huge pack (like over 20 bottles of glitter) at Tuesday Morning for the bargain price of 14 bucks.  I will never be able to use all that glitter!  Thanks for stopping in today and if you would like to see the rest of PTI's Make It Monday entries just click here.

Natural Beauties Birthday Card

Good Morning blog friends! I have another birthday card for you today.  Hopefully I will get this one out on time!  Mostly PTI product again today.
P1070692
The card base is PTI white.  I used aqua mist, hawaiian shores, new leaf inks to stamp the focal point.  The stamps are from Natural Beauties set.  Not sure about the sentiment, but I do know its PTI.  After stamping I added the bling from Queen and Co.  Then I thought the left side needed something so I added some score tape and glitter.  Still not sure that was the right decision but whats done is done and I do like the super glitter effect in real life- its not so evident in the photo.
As always thanks for stopping by!  Hoping to get in some crafting and photography today so I have blog fodder for next week.  Will it actually happen?  Who knows!

Birthday Wishes

P1070691
Hi y'all!  Happy Friday!  Its my last day of vacation!  I need like two more weeks but I dont think I will be getting them! LOL!  Anyway I made this card for a very good friend of mine.  Believe it or not I met her on the internet way back in 2000 when I was pregnant with my first child.  We met on an AOL message board!  She is amazing and someone I admire greatly.

I made this card using all PTI product.  The cardstock is Kraft.  I stamped it with my Fancy Flourish stamps in fresh snow ink.  I also inked up the sides with fresh snow.  I added the small dots with my gel pen.  The sentiment was stamped in versamark and embossed with white filagree embossing powder.  The flowers from Natural Beauties were stamped on white cardstock using hawaiian shores, aqua mist, sweet blush, hibiscus, lavendar moon, new leaf, and rose inks.  The bling is from Queen & Co.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Birthday Sunflowers

Hey there friends!  Bet you thought I had dropped of the face of the Earth, huh?  I have thought about my sad little blog so many times over the last few weeks but just couldn't get the oomph to go take some pictures, edit them, and fix it all up.  I have been creating.  I haven't been taking photos.  But a few days ago I finally did and this is what I have for you today:
P1070355
Copic colored card using PTI's Autumn Abundance and Waltzingmouse Stamp's Compact Sentiments.  Just a little aside about the WMS set-  It is the best sentiment set I own.  I LOVE the font, I love how bold it is and I love the sizes.  Excellent set- check it out!  Anyway papers are fairly new and I believe are by Cosmo Cricket.  The die cut is Spellbinders Lacy Circles.   As for the coloring I kind of cheated and copied Debbie Olson's color scheme from this post.  I just went out and looked at it again, and I used a totally different green combo for the leaves but the vase is totally based off of hers.  Anyway elsewhere on her blog she has a totally stepped out tutorial if you are new to copics.
Well I would like to promise you that I will be posting again in earnest but I go back to work tomorrow to start a new school year and I have no idea how long it will take me to get back into the swing of things so I'll I can say is I will TRY to get back into the regularly scheduled postings!  As always thanks for stopping by!

Queen Bee

Hello friends!  Happy July 1st!  Wow, this summer is flying by!  I have a few more days until my plans really pick up the pace- so for now I will enjoy the leisurely summer I have going on so far.  Today's card was made specifically for a friend of mine.  She was celebrating her 40th birthday yesterday.  I was reading a book and then suddenly out of nowhere this card idea popped into my head.  I threw the book down and fairly ran to the craft table.  It came together really fast. P1070251
I started with the PTI hexagon coverplate.  I cut the coverplate out of dark chocolate paper.  I laid it on my craft and then stamped the little interior stitching in craft ink.  Next I got a piece of summer sunrise and stamped the big bee from honeybees.  I hand cut the bee and added crystal stickles.  I got a piece of vellum and stamped on Happy Birthday (Birthday Basics) and Queenbee and the crown from HoneyBees.  Thats all there was too it!  Thanks for stopping in today!

Shapes by Design

Good Morning friends!  I hope you are all well this Thursday morning.  I have a couple of cards I made on Tuesday.  I pulled out a really old set from PTI, Shapes by Design.  I think it was designed by Alli Miles.
 P1070163
My first card uses a craft base and a color scheme of dark chocolate, summer sunrise, and orange zest.  Its a little too 70's for me but it was a lot of stamping so I will give it out for the next guy birthday we celebrate.  If I were to do it again I would change the colors.
 P1070165
I like this next one a lot better.  Color scheme of New Leaf, Viridian Green, Dark Chocolate,Golden Harvest and Summer Sunrise.  Shapes by Design stamp set.

I notice I am getting a lot of crafting done now that its summer.  I am also not working this summer for the first time in 5 years.  I miss my little summer jobs- but there wasn't anything to be had this summer.  However more time for relaxing and crafting.  We spent a very enjoyable day yesterday at my daughter's promotion from 6th grade.  One of her friend's parents invited us over for an impromptu BBQ.  It was really fun and its always nice to get to know the parents of her friends. As for today I am off to spin class in a few minutes.  I am completely rusty but its a great workout- for the body and the mind too.  Its good when your muscles are nice and sore.  (Or so I tell myself!)  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Cupcake

Hello friends! Sorry for the lack of updates lately. The end of the school year is always so busy! I haven't touched cardstock in at least 3 or 4 days. But I do have for you a card I made last week. P1070103
I love this diamond background from Waltzingmouse stamps. The best part about it is that it easily spans the card base!  I inked it a little unevenly to get a distressed look.  I added a piece of vellum and used a sentiment from PTI.  The cupcake is also from PTI (Baby Button Bits).  It is paper pieced with doodlebug papers.  The star borders were cut with the PTI star border die from Doodlebug and PTI papers.  Thanks for stopping in!

Trendy Trees Round Deux

Hello friends!  I have another quick share for you today featuring Trendy Trees.  Love this little set, so much hidden goodness!  All the paper is from Echo Park.  Tree tops are stamped in Versamark and embossed with clear/sparkle embossing powder from Hero Arts.

Teeny Trees with Hand Drawn Frames

Good Morning friends! I have a little set of cards I made the other day with Teeny Trees. Untitled
They all have the same layout and then I just switched up the colors and the sentiments.  I am using a kraft base.  The trees are stamped in kraft ink, the tops in new leaf.  The little hearts were die cut from echo park paper.  I hand drew the frames with white gel pen and a T-square.  I hand wrote the sentiments.
 Untitled
This one is my favorite.  I love the polka dot paper.  One of the few I have used all up!
 Untitled
This is my least favorite because I wasn't paying attention and capitalized the sentiment.  grrr!  Thanks for stopping in!  I hope you have a great day!

Trendy Trees and Patterned Paper

Hi there friends!  Are you hoarding a large quantity of patterned paper?  Would you like to use it up so you can buy some more (or make room for the paper you already bought)?  Yes?  Well then this is the card for you!  I used up several sheets on one card, Yay!  Now I can plan my next purchase, lol!
P1060975
This paper is all from Echo Park although it is from two different pads.  The green on the trees is embossed cardstock.  The tree trunks are kraft cardstock, rubbed with ink to darken them a bit.  It felt very satisfying to cut up all that patterned paper and I threw the scraps out because really people, why am I hoarding a 2x2 square when I have enough patterned paper to wall paper my entire house?  Have a great Tuesday!

In Bloom Roses

P1060928
Well good morning friends!  I am up early because we have a 9am baseball game today.  I do not enjoy it, not at all.  Plus its cold. Sorry I go off topic so quickly!  Anyway today I give you the birthday card I made for my mom.  Its got the big rose from In Bloom.  I masked the rose to add the leaves and then colored it all with my copics.  The background is stamped with the houndstooth from the new set Heirloom Pattens by Waltzingmouse Stamps.  The sentiment is from PTI- Botanical Garden.

P1060930
Here we have essentially the same card in a different color scheme, with a different sentiment and a different background from the same background set.  Waltzingmouse backgrounds are awesome they are the full length of the card and super easy to line up and you get so many in one package.  This set has 5 different backgrounds in it!

Happy 50th

P1060874
Hello Friends!  I have a good friend who turned 50 on Saturday.  (She's my birthday twin- except I turned 39).  And I made up this little card for her.  I bought those number dies from PTI when they first came out and this is probably only the second time I have used them.  Don't think I would repurchase if I had it to do over, however, I have them now and they sure are cute.  The paper is some newer Cosmo Cricket.  The big ribbon is from my LSS.  It came in a grab bag so no idea who the manufacturer is.  Well thats all I got!  Thanks for stopping in.

Morning Glories

P1060862
Hello Friends!  I have some PTI Morning Glories for you today.  I had stamped these out a long time ago to color on vacation.  Well I ended up never coloring so I found them whilst cleaning up my mess and decided to get in a little Copic practice.   So here they are all colored up in shades of pink!  I love the way they came out.  If I remember correctly these are RV55, 63,69  or something close to that.  The leaves are G07 and G09.  The leaves read a little funny in the photo.  I am not sure why, they dont really look like that in real life.  Not much else going on here except for more twine (gotta use that 400 yards up!) and a little tag using PTI Boxes, Bags, and Tags and Mixed messages.  Thanks for stopping in.
