I’m Still Alive!

Well what do you know?  I can still make stuff on occasion.  I've been keeping myself busy teaching school and reading books.  I haven't really made any time for art over the last year or two except for the card making club that I run at the school.  However, I've got a fully stocked craftroom and I was finally running out of cards!  This card uses stamps from lawn fawn (lady bugs) and altenew (sentiment).  A little copic coloring and a lot of black ink.  Happy summer friends!

Daffodil Thank You

image
Greetings friends!  Today I have a copic colored card for you.  Its been awhile since I last had my pens out!  Heck the crafty supplies haven't seen much use at all lately!  So much going on in my life!  Let me get the card deets out of the way and then I will catch you up.  First off, this card uses two PTI sets:  Year of the Flowers, Daffodil and Background Basics, Tin Type.  I stamped both in dark chocolate ink.  The base of the flower in white and the base of the card is fine linen.  I cut the flower out using the coordinating die.  I colored it with Y13,Y15,Y17, and Y18.  The stem/leaves are colored with YG23 and YG25.  The sentiment is from Thanks All Ways (I think...).  The washi tape is from WRMemories and the sequins are doodlebug.
RANDOMNESS:  So I've been busy starting a new teaching job at a new school.  I've changed both grades and subjects.  I am now teaching 7th grade ELA/History and an elective focused on merging technology and science and writing.  I am super excited but wow, so much work!  Anyway the workload will definitely be keeping me busy especially when school starts on the 2nd.
Leaving my old school was really hard (but a good decision I think!).  I was there 17 years!  Craziness. My principal retired last year and I decided it was time for a change.  Speaking of that, when she retired I drew her this picture of the front of the school and colored it with my copics.  Its 8.5x11 inches.  I framed it for her.  She loved it!  IMG_0226
I really enjoyed doing it.  Sometimes we get so busy we totally forget to do the things we love.  I love to draw.  Thanks for stopping in today!

Sunflowers

image
Hello friends!  Today I have another Thank you card for you.  I used PTI's sunflower set and a sentiment from Inside and Out: Thank You.  I stamped the sunflowers in multiple sizes and colors.  Next I added some greenery.  Finally I added two different colors of stickles in the middles of the flowers and stamped the sentiment.  Quick and easy, except for the stickle drying time.

Little Bitty Bird Thanks

image
Hello friends.  I have a little bitty bird thank you card today.  One layer, three colors.  Simple and easy.  I needed a ton of thank yous after we had a small house warming party.  My friends are so sweet and brought me fun little gifts.  I went to my stash for thank yous but all I found were birthday.  Isn't that how it always is?  You never have what you need!  Anyway time was of importance so I whipped up a few of these guys.  I love bitty bird!  Thanks for stopping in!

I am Back!

image
Hello friends!  Well we are all moved in.  The craft room has been set up and things are getting back to normal.  I've made a few things but most of them have been in the envelope and out the door before I could even think about a picture.  However, I do have something for you today.  The thank you card uses all PTI- Framed Out and Butterfly stamps and die.  Canyon clay, summer sunrise, and hawaiian shores ink.  Thanks for stopping in and I hope I will be back to regular posting soon.

Thanks...

What's that?  A third day of posting?  How can it be?   Haha!  I made a few cards recently and actually took pictures- simple as that.  Today I have for you a Thank You card.  I am constantly in need of thank you cards.
image
This card is mostly pattern paper.  I'd love to tell you which pad but I am so lazy that I am not going to go dig for it.  I think its by Carta Bella.  The squares are from PTI square prints- stamped in Summer Sunrise, Berry Sorbet, and kraft.  The sentiment is from WMS.  Some little sequins from my LSS and its all done.  Thanks for stopping by!

Sequin Leaves

Wow two days in a row!  Is the world coming to an end or something?  I have another little CAS card for you today.  I finally hopped on the sequin band wagon.
image
The birds and tree are from Clearly Besotted.  I love that all the birds in the set are mirror images of each other.  I have been looking for a set like that for a long time.  The sentiment is from WMS Compact Sentiments.  Ink from PTI- blueberry sky and kraft.  Sequins from my LSS.

Thank You!

image
Hi Friends! Happy New Year!  I hope 2014 is starting off well for you all!  This is the first card I've made this year.  I used all PTI product.  I stamped the stitched flowers in white ink on Blueberry Sky cardstock.  I then added some shading with a white pencil.  A few red rhinestones finish things off.  The banner is PTI bitty boxes paper stamped with a sentiment from a special Thank You set from a few years ago.  Thanks for stopping by- I know the posts are few and far between.  Blogging has taken the back burner for me the past six months.  My life is a bit chaotic at the moment so I don't see blogging coming back to the forefront any time soon but I do appreciate you checking in on me!

Cherry On Top

Hey friends!  Happy SAF day to you Papertrey Ink customers!  I bought the set but I didn't participate.  My kids had opening day of soccer today and I am still getting over the wisdom teeth pain as well.  However a week or so ago I made this with the SAF set.  The set has a lot of scratch and sniff sentiments but this is not a scratch and sniff- LOL.  I don't see myself ever doing that, but I think these little fruits are just adorable.

More Round Repeats

IMG_2539

Hello friends!  I have another Round Repeats card for you today.  This stamp set is from PTI.  I love any set that allows for patterning building.  Its fun to just sit there and make patterns all day.  I lost this set for about 3 weeks.  I had just about given up hope when I found it--- sitting on its right shelf, alphabetically with all the other sets.  I felt like the biggest moron ever! Thanks for stopping in!

Stamps:  PTI- Round Repeats, WMS sentiment
Ink:  PTI chartreuse, hawaiian shores

More Shapes by Design

Hello blog friends!  I have the last of the Shapes by Design cards for you today.  I worked on these a few weeks ago but just recently got around to editing the photos.
 P1070174
This first card has the circles over lapped just as they were on the teal/green card I shared a few days ago.  However this time I took my white gel pen and outlined the circles so they stand out more.  On the sentiment where the grey looks a bit messy I outlined it in a twinkle pen, in real life it just looks sparkly, in the picture it just looks uneven.  The colors used here are Winter Wisteria and Spring Rain.

 P1070175
On this second card I used the same color scheme.  I used the rectangle stamps and I masked the circle for the sentiment.  I used stickles in blue and purple over each of the boxes.  It is so sparkly in real life, not so much in the picture.   Anyway just a few more things you can do with the PTI shapes by design set.  A lot of possibilities with that one- especially if you like clean and/or graphic designs.

Shapes By Design Day 2

Hello Friends! I have been having so much fun with old Shapes By Design set.  I looked it up and it was indeed designed by Ali Miles for PTI.  I believe it came out in 2008.  I got it out the other day because I was thinking of selling it (lets be honest I have way too many stamps).  I thought I should give it one more shot before I listed it and now I don't think it will be leaving the house.  I have made 8 cards since I got it out!
P1070169

To make this card I used two of the circle stamps.  I drew a one inch grid on my paper using a T square (seriously best tool ever).  Then I took to stamping with the outline circle.  After stamping that outline I went back and erased the gridlines.  Next I filled in with the solid circle using two colors of ink (new leaf and hawaiian shores).   Those little strips are the ends I cut off when cut the front down to mat it.
 P1070170
The sentiment and frame are from Framed Out two.  I thought they fit the design pretty well.  Everything is matted on a New Leaf base.   I still have four or five more shapes by design cards so come back tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping in!

Teeny Trees with Hand Drawn Frames

Good Morning friends! I have a little set of cards I made the other day with Teeny Trees. Untitled
They all have the same layout and then I just switched up the colors and the sentiments.  I am using a kraft base.  The trees are stamped in kraft ink, the tops in new leaf.  The little hearts were die cut from echo park paper.  I hand drew the frames with white gel pen and a T-square.  I hand wrote the sentiments.
 Untitled
This one is my favorite.  I love the polka dot paper.  One of the few I have used all up!
 Untitled
This is my least favorite because I wasn't paying attention and capitalized the sentiment.  grrr!  Thanks for stopping in!  I hope you have a great day!

Making Lemonade Out of Lemons....

Or how to fix the card you just spent 30 minutes coloring on.  This card originally looked like the two I shared yesterday- right up until I dropped an ink pad on it.  Yep, sad but true.  I couldnt let all the work go to waste so here is my fix.
P1060929
I trimmed out the flower and leaves.  Luckily the ink pad only hit the sentiment and white space.  Next I took a piece from the base (the kraft portion) because the rest of it ripped when I was peeling off the flower.  I made a new base out of plum pudding cardstock.  I stamped the panel with the sentiment and added a little bit of ribbon and bling.  Yay, a card saved after all!  Thanks for stopping by!

Waltzingmouse Thanks

P1060891
Hello Friends!  How are you all?  I have been up to my eyeballs in books at the school's bookfaire.  Thank goodness it ends this Friday because I am so DONE!  Anyway, today I bring you some Waltzingmouse.  I apologize for the crappy photograph.  The weather here sucks and I am reduced to shooting on my craft table with my OTT light and well, I am not the greatest photographer anyway.
I used the new WMS chicken wire background.  So cute and so easy to line up!  The chicken and the other patterns are from WMS French Country and the sentiment is from Say It Loud.

Stitches and Swirls Thank You

P1060802
Good Morning blog friends! I have a quick little card for you today.   I was trying to use up some of the many vellum strips I have left over from making my SIL's baby shower invites.  Pretty simple to do the only thing that may need explanation is the leaf die cut.  I covered the cardstock with scor tape and then glitter and then I die cut it.  Works pretty well, but it does stick the die a bit.  Thanks for stopping in!

Thank You!!

P1060800
Good morning friends! Looks like its been a week since I checked in last! Hate when my real life gets so crazy I can't even upload photos! LOL! Today I have a card that features the free set that PTI sent out last month with people's December orders.  I got really lucky because one of my forum friends, JuneK, sent me her extra set!  I am always so amazed by the generosity of others.  I made this little card to thank her.  Of course in true slacker style, I just got it in the mail today.  So June- its on the way!  Anyway fairly simple construction,  I used Mat Stack 5 under the sentiment.  The polka dots are from Polka dot basics.  The glittery bits are made with a die cut, scor tape and martha stewart glitter.  Thats all I have for today- gotta get to work!  Thanks for stopping in!
Edit:  I am going to enter this in Rhonda's Thankful Thursday.  Have you seen it?  Its a cute idea.  Go here for the details.   Speaking of thankful... I am so thankful my little guy is loving his guitar lessons!  Finally something he is really into.

A More Traditional Thank You

P1060781
My Husband bought me this Penny Black stamp set for Christmas.  I love the little cat.  I love cats.  Rather than stash away for next year I decided to use it to make a few more thank yous.  I love coloring and Penny Black stamps are perfect for that.  The sentiment is from Inside and Out Thank You (PTI).  The base is Pure Poppy and the strip is Ripe Avocado.  Simple and easy to mail!  Thanks for stopping by!

More Thank Yous

Good morning friends. A few more thank yous left over from my color blocking fun. P1060785
The first card uses the negative image.   After I cut the butterflies I trimmed it up to match up with the card front.  I added a sheer ribbon, sentiment stamp, and some stickles.  The die and the sentiment stamp are both PTI.
P1060784
And here is a little something using the positive image.  More stickles, some bling, a button and a little ribbon.  Trail is hand drawn and sentiment is from PTI Inside and Out Thank you.  Thanks for stopping in today!
