I was scanning these for my daughter and I thought well why not share some photos of Frank, in his prime. We ended up putting him down on Saturday. It was a hard day for all of us, but we know we did the right thing. Thank you to everyone who left me comments and sent me emails, truely it made me feel much better.
Frank put up with alot. This picture was from a photo session for Christmas cards in 2002
Frank was always a good sport about dressing up.
Frank was always on the lookout for a good place to sleep.
Frank also liked to sleep in our car when it was parked in the garage.
This is right after we first adopted him, most likely 1999. I think it was definitely pre-children.
We have dozens of pictures of him napping with our kids.

What a great tribute to Frank!! It looks like he was meant to be with you and your family. He obviously had a good life!!
Oh what a sweetie.
I was thinking about you over the weekend.
I am so sorry for your loss and hope that you are finding comfort in your family and memories of your Frank. He was clearly loved without measure and will always be a part of your familiy.
Here is a poem I often read when I think about the furry friends I have had to said goodbye to over the years.
"Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
