Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #111

Hi Friends!  Long time, no write!  Its been busy here the last couple of weeks!  I have a few pictures and stories for you but first I wanted to check in with my take on the Waltzingmouse sketch challenge! You can find all the details for the challenge here.

My 17th wedding anniversary is tomorrow and I needed a little something for the hubby. I used a couple of different sets on this card.  The background is from Heirloom Patterns.  The tree and wee birds are from Teeny Trees.  The heart is from Lil Buddies (I think...), and the sentiments are from Compact Family and Compact Sentiments.  I used a variety of inks from a wide variety of manufactures.  Ribbon from my stash, twine from May Arts.  That's it for the card making portion.  Below is a little update on the goings on around here:

Edit:  Just clarify... the bride below is NOT me.  That is my husband's cousin and we went to her wedding in S. Ca.  You can see us dressed in our wedding finery in the pics following.
We have been in and out of town and all over for the past two weeks.  We were at a wedding in Southern California where my husbands cousin got married.

Both my kids had birthdays and we celebrated with a pool party at the local pool.

I cleaned out and reorganized my closet!  Oh it was such a pig stye!  I am too embarrassed to show the before pics!

I recovered all the dining room chairs.  The kids ripped one and of course no matching fabric on hand I had to redo them all.  I do like the way they turned out.

After! So anyway its been busy around here!  My daughter started jr. high this week and my son will be back in school on Monday.  The count down for me has started as well and I have been spending time down at my job getting ready for the new year to start up.  Thanks as always for coming by.  I know its annoying when the posts don't update every day!  I'm going to try to do better!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #100

P1070119 copy
Hey friends! Its time for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! You can see this weeks sketch and read all the details here. For this challenge I used Heirloom backgrounds to create the diamond background.  I love that stamp.  I love the way my wisteria ink from PTI  pools up on it and gets splotchy... in fact I encourage that.  If you dont like the splotchy look try a little Versamark before using dye ink.  The label is from Rescue Remedies and its cut out with my Spellbinders.  I added some purple doodlebug bling and some Making Memories flowers.

Happy Birthday Waltzingmouse!

Long time, no write! More about that in a minute but first I have to say, Happy Birthday Waltzingmouse Stamps! WMS is now two years old! Have you shopped at WMS? Don't be frightened that they are over seas. Claire will take care of you. WMS has the best customer service and some of the fastest shipping times around. Everything she has sent me has always been top notch. You cant go wrong there! Also her stamp sets are jam packed with goodness- so much bang for your buck (or pound as the case may be).
Because it is Saturday WMS sketch challenge also has a new sketch up. You can check it out here. You can win a free set! Here is my entry:
I have three different sets on this card. I started with the sweet little doily from the dainty doilies 2 set. I stamped it in white. Next I took another small doily from the Dainty Doilies set and stamped it in a variety of colors on top of the white doily. Next I took the small cupcake from the frame It set and stamped it twelve times. I colored them with copics and cut them out. I used pop dots to adhere them to the card. The icing is colored with sakura clear sparkle gel pen. Finally I used the large cupcake from Frame It to make the tag. I colored it and added some stickles. The sentiment is from the Say It Loud set. The ribbon is from Martha Stewart.
And a little close up of the ribbon and tag. Look at all that sparkly goodness! LOVE!
**** Randomness to Follow*****
So if you stop in often you may have noticed a complete lack of posts for the past ten or so days. I try really hard not to do that but we had a big happening at school that I was in charge of. I run the school's PTO (like a PTA but not affiliated with Nat'l PTA) and our biggest fundraiser of the year is an ice cream social. We have ice cream sundaes, cotton candy, popcorn, face painting, bounce houses, DJ, etc... And yours truly gets to coordinate it all and also go after people who are willing to donate their time or bounce house. It takes every waking moment pretty much to take care of that. We also have a huge basket raffle. I donated one. I thought you might like to see it.
Thats all candy! Aren't you glad your kid did not win it? LOL! Hopefully I will be back with regular posts this week! Thanks, as always, for visiting!

For this card I used some Soft Stone Cardstock. I stamped it with one of the backgrounds from the PicNic Patterns set (WMS) The flowers are also from that set. The sentiment is from Teeny Trees. I used some buttons and ribbon on the side. Some really old Heidi Swap bling and some cardstock punched with an EK success punch.

Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #5

Good morning friends! Today I have for you a little card I made for the Waltzingmouse sketch challenge. Get all the details here. You don't even need to use WM stamps to play. In fact, today's card has stamps from three different companies. The little frog is from Penny Black. I just got it so you can expect to see more cards soon. The label outline and the background strip are both from Waltzingmouse. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I used colorbox ink (pastel lime) and versamagic ink (turquoise gem). My froggy is colored with copics (YG23 and YG17). The ribbon is from American Crafts.

Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #4 (?)

Hi all! I have been busy crafting away today, man how I love summer! Blocks of time off are good for the soul. I saw the WM sketch this weekend and thought I would try my hand at it. Here is the link if you want to play.

The little bees and sentiment are from WM, as is the dotted circle. The flowers are from PTI. The paper is also PTI. Finished card size 5x5

Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #1

Hi! I am so sorry for my lack of posts lately! Apparently June is a busy time here! I haven't had time to do anything lately! But today I made time for this little card. Its 4x4 square. It took me forever! LOL, way longer than any tiny card should. Its for the all new WM sketch challenge. Hop over and take a look! I used my new Afternoon Tea set along with Vintage Circles. The patterned paper is from Pebbles and Co. The button is from PTI, as well as the white card stock. The ink is Memento Tuxedo black (I finally abandoned my Palette noir in favor of Memento). I used my nesties to cut out the circle. The teacups are cut by hand and the saucers are hand drawn with black pen. Thanks for stopping in!
