Owl

Isn't this little owl the cutest. I bought him at my LSS with a little butterfly... I think they may have been taken out of a larger set. I believe he is from Hero Arts. I also used some PTI stamps on this project. The dots and sentiment are from Round and Round. The frame on the envie is Fillable Frames 6. I really did up the envie for this card so I thought I would show it in the picture.
I also did up the inside which is something I dont often do. The sentiment here is from Inside and Out: Thank You. The butterfly came with the owl.
Finally I took some scraps and made a second card, very similar to the first. The inside is exactly the same. The dimensions of the second card are slightly smaller and more square. The white piece was made with fillable frame 1 die. The wings on the owl are paper pieced, as is the butterfly.

Anjillic's Christmas in July Challege

OMG I cannot even believe I just made a Christmas card. I do not work well off season! LOL now here I am in July making Christmas cards. This was made for a challenge, a very generous challenge, on the Anjillic Creations blog. All the details are here. Go now, you could win a PTI gift certificate, but hurry it ends on July 31st!
Card Deets: I used PTI's Believe Stamp set to stamp the Santa and sentiments. I stamped him on the Mat Stack 3. I masked him out and stamped the tintype background behind him. On the red base I used the line stamp from Background basics retro. All stamping was done in dark chocolate, except the lines. I used versamark for those. I colored the Santa with copic markers.
One more close up of the Santa:

More Scraps

Today's card has 5 different patterned papers, white gel pen (signo white broad... LOVE this pen), buttons, fillable frame stamps. Everything came from my stash. I just chopped it up and glued it together! Thanks for coming by today.

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!

Wow its been so long since I have had time to participate! So here we are! Today the challenge is all about office supplies. Straight from Nichole's blog:
For this month's blog hop we are focusing on office supplies! We want to see you incorporate all of those fun desk drawer fillers into your paper crafting projects. This can include paper clips, binder clips, rubber bands, file folders, staples, binder rings, adhesive labels, post-it notes, index cards or whatever else you can dream up. Reinvent these basic office staples to be hip and trendy additions to your projects! We look forward to seeing your creations!
So here is what I have to offer. I have to say I am not huge on office supplies. I do love a good post it note, and I really like funky paperclips but other than that... I used two sets on this card. PTI: Take Note and Top 10. I have a summer sunrise base, lemon tart note, and kraft label. The ribbon is Harvest Gold and the ink is dark chocolate. I gave another little nod to office supplies with my three yellow staples.

Vellum Butterflies

Good Morning! I have some more vellum butterflies today. I have gotten a few questions about these little guys so I thought I would give you some tips in making them. Here's what I do:
1. First I use PTI Vellum. You may think there is not a big difference, but there is. This is the thickest vellum I have ever encountered... in fact its too thick for some projects, but for butterflies its perfect.
2. I use my PTI butterfly die to die cut the vellum. I usually do a whole bunch at one time to save and use later.
3. I stamp my die cuts with the butterflies from PTI's butterfly dream. I use chalk inks, specifically the ones by Versamagic. The color lays down beautifully, it does not smear, and it dries very quick. I have used Palette inks but I find they are too watery and smear easily.
4. I add coordinating jewels. These jewels are teeny tiny. I got some from A'muse and some from Hero arts. They are itsy bitsy.
5. Attaching the butterfly to the card is a little tricky. First I fold up the wings. Then I spread Tombow liquid glue (in the white bottle with the green lid) on the the vellum under the jewels. I wait a few seconds and then stick it down. The glue is very strong and once dry the butterflies do not fall off.
For these two cards I used all PTI products (except ink and jewels). I used Kraft for the bases, one card has a side fold, the other a top fold. I used guidelines paper on the bases. I trimmed it with plum pudding twill. I used to fillable frame 5 to make the die cut, stamp the border, and the sentiment. Doesn't that ink match great? Its chalk ink by Versamagic in the color purple hydrangea.

Cheers to You

Another little scrappy card. I am still working on using up all those scraps...I wish I could id the paper for you but its all from my stash. The only one I know is the little bitty dot paper at the top. Thats Bitty Dot by Papertrey ink. The cardstock base is Raspberry Fizz by PTI. I used Fillable Frame die and stamp at the top. The sentiment and drink is from Day at the Beach (PTI). I rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper. I cant believe I waited so long to buy it. Its awesome! Thanks for stopping by today!
Can I ask you a favor? Please, please vote for the school I work at! Just click on the vote now link. It's right over there in my side bar------>>>>>>. You can vote 5x for one school.

Butterfly Thanks

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by! Today's card is made with a PTI base in Summer sunrise. I made the panels using PTI Turning a new leaf and Beautiful Blooms 2. I added a strip of pp (Bitty Boxes in Summer Sunrise) and a piece of Simply Chartreuse Twill. The butterfly (from Butterfly Dreams) was stamped on vellum and cut with the matching die. I added a small row of crystals (Amuse) down the center. The sentiment is from Fillable Frame and is stamped in Fresh Snow.

Hip Hip Hooray!

... I am back from my trek to the wilderness... ok well camping... but it was roughing it... NO running water! Oh I was so filthy! And my children... wow the dirt was packed on in layers! But we are back and finally clean and laundry is being done, so all is right with the world.
I made this last week when I was on my Penny Black kick. I love this set. Its called Toadily. The sentiment is from PTI Fillable Frames #5. The cardstock is PTI spring rain and the PP is K&Co. (But it is old... like last year old.) Thanks for stopping by!

Clean and Graphic

Moxie Fab has a bunch of challenges this week! Hop over and check them out. This one is for Clean and Graphic. Clean is one of my favorite styles. I like white space and clean lines. For this card I stamped three little drinks (PTI Day at the Beach) on white. I colored with my copics and then cut the drinks out, right on the lines. I adhered them to my True Black cardstock. I drew a frame with my uniball signo pen and stamped the sentiment in PTI Fresh snow. All supplies PTI unless otherwise noted.

Celebrate Butterfly

Good Morning! Actually its 3:00am here. I have no idea why I can't sleep but I strongly suspect its because my husband is sick and is coughing and hacking in my bed. I am the only one who has avoided the illness but I can't help thinking I am going to be next. Anyhow... on to today's card. Its pretty simple. I stamped a large flourish from PTI's Fancy Flourishes in Fresh Snow ink on raspberry fizz cardstock. Next I stamped and die cut a butterfly from Butterfly Dreams on some PTI vellum. I added a little row of Amuse bling. I adhered a scrap of die cut Raspberry Fizz bitty dot paper and accented the scallops with bling. Finally I stamped the celebrate sentiment from Fillable Frame 5 in fresh snow. It was not dark enough (or white enough...) so I carefully traced it with my uniball white pen.

More Penny Black Frogs

Another frog from the cute little Toadily set by Penny Black. I can not resist frogs, especially when they are this cute! I am entering this guy in Moxie Fab's Cute and Fun challenge. Cute and Fun is one of my favorite kinds of cards to make!
The main image is Penny Black. The sentiment is from PTI (fillable frame). I stamped it all in Palette Noir. (Aside: I finally bought some Momento Tuxedo and I have to say I prefer the Palette. All the raving on the net for Momento, I thought for sure I would like it better but to me the images are much crisper in the Palette.) The base is Summer Sunrise. The patterned paper is by Doodlebug (stripes) and I think KandCo. (I am not positive on that one, I have had it a long time). Thanks for stopping by today!

Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #5

Good morning friends! Today I have for you a little card I made for the Waltzingmouse sketch challenge. Get all the details here. You don't even need to use WM stamps to play. In fact, today's card has stamps from three different companies. The little frog is from Penny Black. I just got it so you can expect to see more cards soon. The label outline and the background strip are both from Waltzingmouse. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I used colorbox ink (pastel lime) and versamagic ink (turquoise gem). My froggy is colored with copics (YG23 and YG17). The ribbon is from American Crafts.

Another Scrappy Card

Here's another card utilizing my huge stash of patterned paper. All supplies except for the paper are by PTI. PP is anyone's guess. LOL. The stamp set is PTI Day at the Beach. I had forgotten how much I love those little drink stamps.
I took a copic class yesterday at a local LSS. I went with a new friend that I met online. It was a good time but I was really disappointed in the class. The instructor was lovely, however it was a very easy beginner class full of tips I already knew how to do. I really think the level of the class should be on the flyer. Because the instructor is well known I expected the class to be at a more advanced level. It also cost 45 dollars and I did not feel it was worth it at all. We did not complete any cards. We made one small book to showcase the tips. The actual instruction took only about 30 minutes of the 2 hours. Anyway that may have been my first and last class. All I keep thinking about is I could have had two PTI stamp sets for the cost of that class. Ah well, live and learn. I hope you are all having a great Saturday.

CARDS blog challenge

I made this for the Monochromatic card challenge over at the CARDS blog. You can go here for details. All products are by PTI unless otherwise noted. Stamp sets are Guidelines and Giga Guidelines. Cardstock is aquamist and hawaiian shores. Ink is versamark, versamagic turquoise gem, and aquamist (PTI).

Another Patterned Paper Scrappy Card

Good Morning! I have another patterned paper scrappy card for you today. This one is a little more involved. I have four little strips of paper here. Two of them I edged with my ek success scalloped punch. I took a fifth piece of paper and die cut it with fillable fram 5 (PTI) and then stamped it with the coordinating stamp, butterfly (PTI Butterfly Dreams) and sentiment (Fillable Frame 1). All in Versamagic Turquoise Gem ink. I added three PTI buttons and some faux stitching on the side. Easy Peasy! Thanks for coming by! Today I am taking a Copic Class at a LSS. I hope I learn some new tricks, I will let you know how it goes tomorrow.

Lets Use Up That Patterned Paper Stash!

If you are anything like me you have a ton of patterned paper. What makes it worse for me is that I used to scrapbook so I have tons of 12x12 patterned paper and even though I havent made a proper scrapbook page in like 3 years I keep buying the paper! Whats wrong with me? Its a disease. Well a few days ago I decided to start making a dent in that paper. I also decided I needed to come up with some easy to make cards for a little card class I am hosting. Here's what I came up with. Fun, summery cards with matching lined envies. Now the bad news (or good news) is I managed to make 8 cards and 8 matching envies and I only used 3 sheets of pp! And I still had plenty left over for more! Ack! On the other hand I am really pleased with the cards. I would love to tell you where I got the pp but its all from my stash and much of it is really old! The base is a half sheet of hawaiian shores cardstock. I then cut the pp into strips 3.75 tall and 1.5 wide. I laid them side by side, overlapping just a bit. I covered the top with some cute raspberry fizz rick rack (cut with my PTI rick rack die) and then added a sentiment/focal point using fillable frame 5 and die. The flipflops are from PTI day at the beach.
Here's another, same basic process, different colors. Dont you love the lined envies? Its the PTI envie die folks... oh how I love it!!! On this card the sentiment is also from PTI day at the beach.
Thanks for coming by! Now go use those scraps!

Lavender Rose

Hi There! Today I have yet another rose for you. I actually did this one before I did the red one that I showed a few days ago. My mom used to have a really pretty lavender rose bush. Its what I was thinking of when I came up with this color scheme. The background purple paper is from prism. I used PTI Background basics: Tin Type to make the pattern. I used versamark ink. Its mounted on stampers select White. I used some Plum Pudding Twill for the border. I punched a piece of Linen Vellum for the sentiment area. The sentiment is from the Fillable Frame collection, number 5, I think. Its stamped in Plum Pudding ink. Thanks for stopping by! Blogger is having a lot of problems with comments so dont be shocked if yours doesn't show up right away. Hopefully they will get it fixed soon.

Patriotic Stars

I made this one a few days ago, right before the 4th. I actually made it for Ted's challenge, Old Glory. Ted's challenge was to use Red, White, and Blue. I love this color scheme. I used all PTI product here. The cardstock is PTI Enchanted Evening, Stamper's White, and Pure Poppy. The stamp set is PTI Star Prints. The punch is from EK success. Now what to do with this card? Guess I need to hang on to it and give it out the next time someone acts like a super star.

Rose Red

I'm back with another Rose for you all. This time I colored it red. Let me just say I think the darker colors are much harder to do. I used R29, R46, and R59. R46 is the lightest, 29 is the midtone, 59 is the darkest. I am really happy with the way it came out. However, it took nearly an hour to color. You have to be very careful so those dark colors don't jump the line. I opted to keep it simple and mounted it on True Black cardstock (PTI). The sentiment is from Fillable Frame (5?). The Rose is from YOF Rose by PTI. A scalloped edge punch (ek success) and a few rhinestones (hero arts) finish it off.

Wishing You

Leeanne
on the PTI message board is doing a week highlighting the PTI set, Wishing You. Well that happens to be one of my favorite sets, so she really inspired me to get it out and ink it up. I made two cards while I had it out today. I forgot about all the versatile sentiments it has. The font is awesome too. I picked Hawaiian Shores and Chartreuse for my two main colors. The inks I used were Colorbox Lime Pastel and Olive Pastel. I also used Versamagic aqua and turquoise gem. Everything else (Cardstock, ribbons, etc.) is by PTI.
I also have a cute card up over at Waltzingmouse makers... check it out!

Wise Owl with a flower belly

Hi there! I have a little wise owl for you this morning. He is mounted on super cute Doodlebug paper. I love Doodlebug. I buy it and then hoard it. LOL! This is brand new though. I mounted it on a new leaf card that I cut with the labels one die. I love using that die to make shaped cards. Thanks for stopping by.

Big Delicious Ribbon

So I was cruising the Big Lots the other night and I found this yummy American Crafts ribbon. So pretty and fat and only a buck. Really, how could I resist it? I love the color combo and used it to set up my card. The purple is by Prism- not sure the color. The pink is from PTI- raspberry fizz. I stamped the little teacup from PTI in versamagic purple petunia. The tea bag is in palette noir with the sentiment in raspberry fizz. Its a pretty simple card but sometimes I like simple.

Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #4 (?)

Hi all! I have been busy crafting away today, man how I love summer! Blocks of time off are good for the soul. I saw the WM sketch this weekend and thought I would try my hand at it. Here is the link if you want to play.

The little bees and sentiment are from WM, as is the dotted circle. The flowers are from PTI. The paper is also PTI. Finished card size 5x5
