Ugliest Card Hop

Hi there friends!  Happy April Fool's Day!  Today Suzanne of The Card Yard has put together a little treat for all of us:
I went back a few years to find this jewel... Good God what was I thinking???

Here is the original post:  http://iamderby.blogspot.com/2008/09/hero-arts-meet-pti.html  You can see I am quite proud of my creation.  Nothing to ground the focal point.  Sentiment way too small.  Coloring odd and color choice of the bird is just strange.  Again what was I thinking?  I even water marked that hideous thing!

PTI Blog Hop- Monograms

Hello friends!  What a shocker this is- finding myself ready for a blog hop on time!  This month the challenge at Papertrey Ink is to create something with a monogram.  I made a little note card with my initials.
Untitled
I started by cutting out the white panel.  I found center and then stamped my initials with PTI's outline alphabet.  I colored the letters with my copic markers using a lighter green for the top.  I stamped the flowers from Mini Blooms with melon berry, summer sunrise, and new leaf ink and then wrapped a piece of melon berry ribbon around the bottom.  The whole thing is mounted on a New Leaf card base.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party! "Falling for You"

MEMO0034
Hello Friends! Its the 17th of the month which means its time for the Waltzingmouse Blog Party.  You can find all the details here.  The theme is fall and I have the perfect WMS set for fall.  Its one of my all time favorites- Teeny Trees.  Here I used the largest tree trunk paired with the tiny maple leaf.  I stamped the tree and sentiment in palette dark chocolate.  I stamped the leaves in a variety of versamagic chalk inks.  I used my copic liner to make the stitching lines and the leaf trail.  I hope you like it!

PTI Blog Hop- Green, White and Black

Hi Friends!  Its PTI blog hop day!  You can find all the details here on Nichole's blog.  This time it was a color/photo challenge featuring green, black and white.  I really like this color scheme.  Here is what I came up with:
P1070116
I used New Leaf cardstock as the base.  I stamped the argyle pattern in New Leaf and black using PTI's A Little Argyle.  I added a strip of black and white polka dot (from the black and white pattern paper pack) cut with the medium scallop die.  Next comes a length of New Leaf twill ribbon.  I used a fillable frame on top and then followed with a sentiment from Waltzingmouse stamps.  The flower buttons are from Doodlebug.  Random bling from my stash.

PTI March Blog Hop

Its PTI bloghop time! Above is the inspiration photo that you can find with all the details on Nichole's blog. I don't know if I ever mentioned this but I find it so hard to work from a sketch or an inspiration photo. Most of the time I just sit down at my desk and go. Rarely do I look at anything before hand. So I always find these kinds of things really challenging for me. P1060898
I have had little bitty bird on my desk for awhile now.  So I just pulled it out again to make this card.  I thought this up last night.  Its not a super original idea as I have seen other cards (with various other animals, etc.) lined up with one different.  I thought it would work well with Little Birdie.  I paperpieced all the birds and all the stripes.  I used a new Doodlebug 6x6 pad and some PTI patterned paper.   Thats all their was to it!  Thanks for coming by!

For Janelle

Hello Friends!  I am back with a very special card for a very special person, Janelle.  You may know Janelle from her blog, Show and Tell.  I "met" Janelle on the Papertrey Ink forum.  Sadly Janelle has been battling with a brain tumor.  Dana and Laurie organized this hop to let Janelle know that we are all still thinking of her and pulling for her.  You can see all the blogs in the hop (and link up your own special card for Janelle!) on Laurie's blog- Soapbox Creations .

Waltzingmouse Fall Blog Hop

Every month I want to participate and every month I am swamped. But not this time! This time I have a lovely card that meets the criteria. You can see all the details here. Its an Autumn/ Harvest theme this month. So I have some lovely fall trees for you. I started with a base of Rustic Cream Cardstock (PTI). I added a strip of some patterned paper by Cosmo Cricket. Its from their Nutmeg collection. Super cute paper, I recommend it! LOL I used the paper to select my color palette. I am using PTI inks in Sweet blush, Spring Moss, Terracotta Tile and Aqua Mist. I am using my favorite Waltzingmouse set, Teeny Trees. I stamped the trunks in dark chocolate. Then I used the leaf stamp to add multicolored leaves. I added the sentiment and bird with aqua mist, I tried to put them at a slight angle. I was being artsy- but now it just looks a little crooked- sigh. Ah well. I love the rest of it. Thanks for stopping in and I hope you have fun on the waltz.

Nichole Heady Appreciation Blog Hop!

The girls over at the PTI forum decided to cook up this little blog hop today. Its in honor of PTI owner, Nichole Heady. She is a wonderfully gifted lady who creates beautiful stamps, cards, and designs constantly! She's also a mom, small business owner, and wife so I imagine her days are very full. I am so inspired by her wonderful designs... especially this year's series of stamp sets called Year of the Flowers. This lovely daffodil makes me happy every time I stamp it. Its gorgeous colored or uncolored. Today I kept it simple. Colored my daffodil with copics, mounted it on bitty dot sunrise paper. Mounted that on some lovely kraft cardstock that I inked with chai ink. The sentiment is stamped in dark chocolate and the whole thing is tied up with a lovely piece of sunrise twill! If you are looking for more places to hop... check out the PTI forum!

PTI Blog Hop

Its time for the Papertrey Ink customer blog hop. You can check out all the details here. This month's challenge involved a brown bag:
In honor of school going back into session everywhere, we thought it would be fun to issue a Brown Bag Challenge. We want to see what you can do to dress up, alter, change an ordinary brown lunch bag into a paper crafting work of art. You could modify it to become a gift bag with handles, create a card base by folding it in half (complete with a slide out tag), add a window to it or whatever else you can dream up. After the hop is though, we should all have plenty of inspiration to help us create amazing projects with inexpensive brown bags! We look forward to seeing your creations!
I broke out my new set, Tiny Treats: Halloween, to create a fun little Halloween gift or treat bag. The first thing I did was cut off a bit of the top and then punch the top with my fiskars threading water punch. Next I used various little images from tiny treats to create a background. I slipped a piece of scratch paper in my bag and then used my copics to color. Next I used my mat stack die to cut out a piece of white card. I stamped it with the coordinating stamp from Tiny Treats and added the little witch's pot. I colored it with my copics and added stickles for detail. I popped it up with dimensionals. Next I added some orange card cut with my scalloped die and added a purple swiss dot ribbon. Thanks for coming by!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!

Wow its been so long since I have had time to participate! So here we are! Today the challenge is all about office supplies. Straight from Nichole's blog:
For this month's blog hop we are focusing on office supplies! We want to see you incorporate all of those fun desk drawer fillers into your paper crafting projects. This can include paper clips, binder clips, rubber bands, file folders, staples, binder rings, adhesive labels, post-it notes, index cards or whatever else you can dream up. Reinvent these basic office staples to be hip and trendy additions to your projects! We look forward to seeing your creations!
So here is what I have to offer. I have to say I am not huge on office supplies. I do love a good post it note, and I really like funky paperclips but other than that... I used two sets on this card. PTI: Take Note and Top 10. I have a summer sunrise base, lemon tart note, and kraft label. The ribbon is Harvest Gold and the ink is dark chocolate. I gave another little nod to office supplies with my three yellow staples.

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!

Hi and Welcome to the monthly PTI blog hop. Here is the challenge for this month:
This month's blog hop is all about fabulous felt! We know you love this new addition to our product line-up and we would love to see what you are doing with it! From borders to focal points, paper crafts to sewing projects. Hair accessories to home decor accents. Cards to scrapbook layouts. We want to see it all!
You can read more about it on PTI's website...here

My card uses PTI's Hawaiian shores cardstock, a selection of PTI buttons, and PTI fresh snow ink. I used Giga Guidelines for the sentiment. The felt is from Queen and Co. It is self adhesive, which is great because I hate the feeling of felt!

It's Blog Hop Time

Hello Friends! It is PTI Blog Hop time! This month's challenge was:
October Blog Hop

It's time for our annual Holiday Hop! Show us your best upcoming holiday plans for cards, gifts, wraps
or whatever else you have up your sleeve! With everyone's cumulative efforts the participant list will be
an amazing resource!

I have for you a gift idea. Perfect for someone you want to remember, yet don't have a lot of money in the budget for. I think it would be fabulous for a teacher, coworker, friend, or daycare provider. I got the idea from a wooden tea box I received from my best friend last Christmas. I was so proud of myself for coming up with the box! Its simple but I am not so great at the 3D thing. The size is based on the size of my Stash brand tea bags. The sides of the box are 1 1/4 inches. The base is 8.5 inches. So it pretty much uses up a full sheet of cardstock. The width is 3.5 inches. I made the accompanying lid 1/4 inch bigger in width and length. All materials are PTI except for the lovely plaid stamp which I got at waltzingmousestamps.
I used PTI's scarlet jewel and cream cardstock. After I cut the lid to size I scored it and stamped it in scarlet jewel with my plaid stamp from Waltzingmouse. Then I punched the edges with my Fiskars Threading Water punch. Next I stamped the teapots from Tea for Two onto cream cardstock and cut them out with rectangle nesties. I ran a length of scarlet jewel saddlestitch ribbon down the length of the lid and then adhered the teapot panels. I stamped a sentiment from Tea for Two in cream on scarlet cardstock. I cut it out and rounded the corners. Then I adhered it and added some cream and scarlet buttons
On the bottom part of the box I stamped some sentiments from Tea for Two. I did the stamping before putting the box together. On the inserts I stamped the little cup from the Everyday Classics set.
A couple more shots of the end and the inside. Hope you like this project and it gives you some ideas for inexpensive and thoughtful gifts.

Hi and welcome to the PTI blog hop! If you want details go here. This month's challenge was to make something inspired by fall. These mums and these colors just scream fall to me. The mums are stamped in dark chocolate. They are from the Autumn Abundance set. I colored them with copics and mounted them on summer sunrise cardstock. The ribbon is from my stash. The yellow flower and leaves are by prima. Thanks for stopping by!

PTI Blog Hop Time!

Its blog hop time at Papertrey Ink! If you have never played before you can check out the rules here. The challenge this time was to use text. I dont have any text background stamps so I made my own! The first thing I did was make the background paper that I used on both cards. To make this I got out my Mixed Messages set, Birthday Basics Set, and Flower garden set. I took out all the Happy birthday related stamps and laid them out on a big grid block. Then I inked it up with dark chocolate and stamped all over a piece of Kraft cardstock. Next I went back and filled in any gaps with my tiny birthday stamps (mixed messages). Then I got out my tea dye ink and rubbed it all over. It was so quick and easy, you have got to try it! Now that I had the paper I went on to make some cards. (I have two here and one more I will put up tomorrow.)
In this first card I used New Leaf as the base.  I mounted my homemade background paper on a piece of Enchanted Evening.  I stamped the balloon strings from Bitty Button Basics in black noir on my background paper.  Next I added buttons from my PTI vintage button collection.  I added in three strips of twill in Enchanted Evening, Scarlet Jewel, and New Leaf.

For my second card I stamped the largest flower from In Bloom on white.  I colored with my copics (the only time consuming part), I stamped the leaves on white and colored those.  I cut out both and glued them down.  I added a ribbon in scarlet jewel twill.  I stamped a verse from Birthday Basics in Ripe Avocado on a scrap of Spring Moss.  I also stamped a small leaf from In Bloom.  The whole thing is mounted on a Scarlet Jewel base.  Thanks for stopping by!!  I hope you will come by again soon!
All Supplies PTI unless otherwise noted.

Blog Hop!

Hi and welcome to Papertrey Ink's Monthly blog hop! This month's challenge was to use yellow. Yellow just screams sunshine and summer doesn't it? For my card I used PTI's summer sunrise and lemon tart. The stamp set is Day at the Beach. Aren't those flip flops the cutest? I made the rhinestones orange with a little help from my copic markers. The card is finished off with summer sunrise grosgrain and lemon tart twill. Thanks for stopping by and have fun hopping!
