I did make some time for my new stamps from Waltzingmouse. The images here are all from Teeny Trees. (Did I mention I love that set? I did? I thought so!) Card Deets are below.

Hello friends! Today I have an entry for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #16. You can see all the details here. I love this new set by Waltzingmouse. Its called Half Pint Heroes! Its so cute! I used the cute little sub stamp on PTI white. I colored it up with copics. Don't you just love that little face? And there are so many faces to choose from! The fish and bubbles are also part of the set. Along with dozens of awesome sentiments. Do I seem like a commercial for WMS? Honestly, Claire doesn't have me on the payroll. I just love how cute her stuff is. Be sure to stop by and check it out. She has an awesome DT as well, they will make you drool! Thanks for stopping in!

Teeny Bird in a Teeny Tree

In case you haven't heard my screaming, "I LOVE THIS SET!". Heehee. Its from Waltzingmouse and is called Teeny Trees. I love everything about it, the images are amazing- the fonts are fabulous. I could not be happier. Its perfect for CAS but also great if you like things a little more busy.

On today's card I made the base from PTI Rustic Cream. I sponged the edges with PTI chai ink. I embossed a rectangle in the center with my nesties. I stamped the tree in colorbox pastel lime. I added a dark chocolate bird and trunk. The sentiment is also in dark chocolate. This card is for Lisanne. I was going to mail it to her but now she is back at our school (long term sub) where she belongs, YAY! So I will take it in with me tomorrow.

Clean and Simple and BLOG CANDY!

Hi all! Did you go check out Shady Tree Studio's release? So much yumminess. I have one more card for you today. This one uses a flower from the Fiery Trees set. I took some white card, embossed it with my spellbinders rectangle set. I stamped the flower in the middle and colored it with my copics. I debated on a sentiment for ages but then decided to go without. What do you think?
And now for some fun! Would you like to win a Shady Tree Studio set? I have an extra of Little Birds. Go here to see it. You can win it! All you need to do is leave me a comment telling me which Shady Tree Studio set you like best. The contest will close on September 30th at midnight (Pacific Time). Good luck!

Hello! Can you believe its the last day of Shady Tree Studio releases? You can get these lovely stamps beginning today! Check out Nancy's blog for all the details. I believe this stamp is from Charms of Autumn. I love the front porch feel, so pretty at night with lantern setting it all aglow. These stamps have been so much fun to color. I love sitting down with them. I have one more card for you tomorrow, using Little Birds. Its simple but pretty, I think you will like it.

Shady Tree Studios Day 4

Hello again! Have you been enjoying the release posts so far? I have been having so much fun with these stamps. I just love all the coloring possibilities. The stamp on this card is from the set Charms of Autumn by Shady Tree Studio. I stamped it on white card with black Memento ink.
Next I went to town with my copics! I love those pens, however if you don't own copics the coloring areas on these stamps are actually fairly small and would work well with just about any kind of marker... like tombows or SU! I also tried coloring with water color pencils and chalks. I will have those to show you in a few days. Thanks for stopping in and sharing my excitement!
Card Deets:
Card: Avocado, select white (PTI)
PP: Echo park
Ribbon: Orange Zest (PTI)

Shady Tree Studios Day 3

Hey there! Welcome back! I have a little something for all you non-coloring folks today. Ok, there is just a hint of marker, but I promise it doesn't take any skill. This is another set being released later this week by Shady Tree Studio. Its called Two Birds. I paper-pieced this entire card. It took some time, but it wasn't difficult. The first thing I did was stamp my design on the cardstock. Next I selected some pieces of patterned paper. I stamped again on the patterned paper and begin cutting out the pieces. I use liquid glue when I am piecing as it tends to be more forgiving. After I had everything pieced I went back with some markers and added a little definition. I used copics but any kind of marker would work. Its not hard. Note: The sentiment is not a Shady Tree stamp, its by Waltzingmouse from the Lil buddies set.
Card Deets:
Cardstock: Aqua mist, pti
Ink: Memento
PP: PTI, echopark
Stamps: Shady Tree Studios, Waltzingmouse (sentiment)

Shady Tree Studios Day 2

I have another card for you today using a new set from Shady Tree Studio. This one is from the set called Charms of Autumn. Oh you will love this one! The first thing I did was stamp the big pretty flower in Momento black. I colored it with my copics, using a variety of oranges and greens. Next I stamped the long border stamp in black and again colored it using the same oranges. I cut out both images. Finally I used a pti tag die to cut around my sentiment. I inked it up with some Versamagic spanish olives ink. I put it all together on a ripe avocado base. I used some cute black gingham ribbon from my stash to tie it all together. Thanks for stopping in today!

Shady Tree Studios New Releases!

Hi there! Its my first post with Shady Tree Studios. You are going to love these images. The owner/ designer Nancy was formerly with CHF, so you may already own some lovely gems designed by her. Whether you know Nancy or not, you are going to want to check these stamps out. They are gorgeous. If you like nature, autumn, or flowers then this release will hit the spot. The stamps go on sale in the next week. Please watch Nancy's blog for details.
Ok, on to the card! The set I have used here is called fiery trees. That cute little tree is perfect for lining up. I like things in threes, LOL! And you know I like things I can color. I embossed my card with my long scalloped nestie. The cardstock is fresh linen (PTI). I then stamped my little trees in memento tuxedo black. I colored them with my copics, making the first tree in reds, the second in oranges, and the third in yellows. I added the sentiment and voila- all done! I have more for you all this week so be sure to check in!

I am just so thrilled that my sister in law is pregnant! They have been trying for quite awhile and now we are going to have a new baby in the family! YAY! Its early days in the pregnancy but I wanted to send a little something to mark the occasion. The excitement with the first baby is always so great. I've got a non traditional color scheme going as I submitted this to a call (reject- lol) and also because its too early to know the gender.

Papertrey Princess Challenge *OLD and New*

Hi y'all! I have been a bad princess... I don't think I have done the last four challenges. Please don't kick me out, I love visiting your blogs! Anyway its my turn to host the challenge, so I decided on a challenge I call OLD and NEW. Old, because you are going to pull out an old Christmas set. New, because you are going to use a non traditional color scheme.
So I've got my old Tree Trimming Trio and my even older Shapes by design. I've got a fresh color combo of pink and light green- with a little white thrown in to even it all out. The lime color is colorbox lime pastel and the pink is PTI sweet blush. That cute ribbon is Martha Stewart (found at Big Lots for 50 cents!) Bling is by A'muse. Alright Princesses! Show me what you got! (And if you aren't a princess but still want to play just link me up in the comments!)

Party All Night

Well will you look at that? I own stamps by companies other than PTI and WMS! LOL! This owl is part of a set from Hampton Arts. It was so cute, it was futile to resist it. The set has lots of little owls, a couple of sentiments, and accessories (the balloon and hat are separate stamps). I think owls are awesome!

I am Ready for Fall

Hey there! What do you think of the new banner? I always get so proud when I manage to master (ok maybe not master...) a new skill. My old banner wasn't big enough for the three column layout so we had to go with something new. The new banner was made using a picture of the card below.Yes, I caved. I bought Heather Nichols' new set from PTI. I loved it so much I just had to have it. For this card I used summer sunrise, harvest gold, dark chocolate, and orange zest.
I also used a ton of stickles in copper, orange, and yellow. Love me some stickles! The ribbon is harvest gold and the button is orange zest. Thanks for stopping by!

Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #14

I am so glad I got a chance to play along with Waltzingmouse's sketch challenge this week! I love the tall skinny cards, so much fun! If you want to play along, click here to get all the details.I used some cute new papers from Imaginisce called Lucy Bird. They are so pretty and with added sparkle! I cut a long base (8x3.5) out of PTI Harvest gold. Next I cut an interior liner out of the Lucy bird paper, making it slightly wider than the card. I cut a scallop in it with the PTI scallop die. Next I cut another panel of Lucy Bird paper for the front and adhered it. I cut a tiny scallop with my ek success punch out of the same paper (its the reverse side). Then I cut a rectangle with my spellbinders out of white card. I traced around the inside of the die with one of my spica pens. Then I used some Waltzingmouse stamps (Basket Editions, brand new!) to make the stamped panel. I colored with my copic markers. I added some Hawaiian shores twill (PTI) and some dimensionals to pop up the panel. I love this card, hope you do to! Close up of the stamping below.

New Look- Sort of

Hello friends! I have been messing with my blog template... taking the 3 column look for a spin. What do you think? I followed an HTML tutorial at Three Column Blogger. Check it out if you are interested in trying it out.
As for today's cards its another from the reject pile. I used PTI's Friends Til the End. Colored with my copics and mounted it on a piece of Hawaiian shores cardstock. Simple but not quick, LOL!
And finally, speaking of friends, I have to give a big huge shout out to my friend, Claire, owner of Waltzingmouse stamps. Claire has got to be one of the nicest people I know. She is also in the middle of releasing some fabulous (I mean FABULOUS!!!) clear stamps. Please go check her out. Waltzingmouse is an awesome company, quick shipping, and beautiful stamps.

My Favorite of the Rejects

For that last Papercrafts call I submitted more than I have ever before. I think I sent in like 7 projects? Anyway this one was my favorite. (BTW the one they picked isn't a card, its a box and it will be in the Stamp It! Techniques Special Edition). So this card is all papertrey. Lots of masking going on. I started by stamping the Orange zest base with the vine image in watermark ink. Next I used some cream cardstock as a back ground and stamped on the tall pumpkin. I was using versamagic chalk ink and PTI hybrid ink in a variety of colors. I masked the tall pumpkin and stamped the fat pumpkin. I masked the fat pumpkin and stamped the frame and green vines. Next I added the pumpkin tops and sentiment. Aside from the mask cutting its a simple card to make. Thanks for stopping by!

Changes

Well where to begin? Let's start with the card. I made this for the last Paper Crafts Magazine call. This one didn't get picked up but in happy happy news another one did! So finally I will be published. To say I am excited would be an extreme understatement. I was shaking as I mailed that baby off! LOL! Anyway this card was for the paper piecing call. Let me just say cutting out that flower was so hard! But I love the way it turned out and now that it has been rejected I can give it away to a friend. ;)
On Tuesday I go back to work so if the blog goes quiet for awhile don't be concerned I just need to relearn how to budget my time. The first few weeks of the school year are always the hardest. I teach in the state of California, home to the world's laziest legislature, where they still haven't managed to pass a budget. I (along with all the other teachers in my district) took a big pay cut and there still isn't any money. The whole thing is beyond frustrating.
I bought a new computer! It was definitely time for an upgrade. I am now the proud owner of a MacBook Pro. Its my second Mac and I am thrilled with it so far. My kiddos will be pleased to be able to play with the old one. I know they will want to be dragging it off to their rooms but I insist the internet be used where I can see it. There is so much bad stuff out there.
Thanks for stopping in today! I will post the card deets below. Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
Card Deets:
Stamps: Friends Til the End (PTI)
Paper: Kraft, pure poppy, bitty dot sunrise, bitty dot pure poppy
Ink: dark chocolate
Bling: Hero Arts, A'muse
