Thursday

Another Tea for Two Card.  Once again all PTI supplies.  Another of the set going to my friend AJ.  I made all of these on the same day.  Last good day of stamping I have had!  I have been either too sick or too busy to stamp since.  Speaking of sick, still sick here.  I went to work this morning and came home at lunch.  If you know me, you know I am rarely sick enough to miss work.  Somehow I ended up with a super work ethic.  I am a good employee... even when I was a teen I never just called out sick.  Anyhow today at lunch the body was done.  Sometimes that happens.  So I left work.  My boss took one look at me and told me stay home tomorrow too.  So I am going to use that time to sleep and try to get better.  Hopefully by the weekend I will be good to go!

Guidelines Mom Day

This is another card that went out to my friend AJ.  I am just so tickled she ordered cards from me... silly tho, I totally would have given them to her.   Anyhow, guidelines 2 in use here.  I used melon berry, spring moss, and lemon tart ink.  All products PTI.
In Other Randomness:
I'm sick.  Coughing and sore throat.  Probably just a cold but you know the news has convinced me I must have swine flu.  Y'all know I live in California.   Just a stone's throw away from Mexico.  And I teach.  In a school.  With lots of germy kids.  Eh its not swine flu, but whatever it is I need it to go away because I hate to be sick.

I have got a ton of work on my desk and its cramping my crafting style.  So much to do that I dont want to do, so I procrastinate alot.

My house is disgusting.  I need a maid or else a week off to really clean this place.  Thats what I get for spending my whole vacation reading Twilight instead of doing chores.

Happy Wednesday all!  May the weekend be here soon!!

Sip and Relax

Over the weekend I finally got a chance to break out my new PTI sets and play a little.  I am making some cards for a friend of mine (Hi AJ!  This ones headed to your place soon!)  She likes matching envelopes so I made envelopes to go with each of the cards.  Such a simple thing to do but for some reason I never think of it.  I just love this little teapot.  Its from PTI's Tea for Two.  The patterned paper was made from PTI's Dots and Spots (something like that). I used Aqua mist and spring moss ink.   I am very happy with this one.  Hope you all are having a fabulous Monday.  In just a few I am off to take the kids to see the new Hannah Montana movie, hope its good enough that I dont fall asleep.

Owl in a tree

I have no idea what kind of card this is.  I couldnt decide where to put the sentiment so I didnt put one on at all.   The stamp is from a new spring set by Hero Arts.  I love that little owl.  I colored it with copic markers and cut it out with oval nestabilities.  The cs is plum pudding and new leaf by PTI.  The ribbon is new leaf bitty dots.  Embossed with cuttlebug swiss dots.  I hate that the swiss dot folder doesnt quite cover the entire card.  I wish they would come out with ta bigger folder.
How was your weekend?  I worked all day Saturday (I work with a group that is training teachers in science, its a three year program- we were finishing up year one).  Today I am going to take it easy... well I still have chores but other than that I plan to relax.  Hope you are having a good one!  Thanks for stopping by.

Wedding Thank Yous

Here is one of the thank you cards. All the cards are the same, with matching envelopes. I used all PTI cardstock, inks and stamps. The stamp set is With Sympathy. The thank you is from another set, Heartfelt Thanks. This the interior of the case I made.  Its made with one sheet of cardstock.  Its based loosely on a design I got from Samantha's blog (see my sidebar for the link).  I actually like her design better and will go back to it next time. (I was too lazy to get up and go find the instructions.)

This is the front of the card case.  I used With Sympathy, Wedding Day, and a random alpha stamp set I have- I lost the container and I have no clue who made the stamps- I think it was MM.  They white oval is PTI's linen cardstock.

More Mom's Day

Another Mother's Day card.  I really thought these would sell but so far no luck... aww well guess its good I have a Mother in Law, a Mom, and a Stepmom.  At least they will have a home somewhere.  This one is all PTI as well.  The stamp sets are With Sympathy, Wedding Day, and Heartfelt Basics.  Colors are Plum pudding and spring moss.  I made a matching envelope as well.  The white is more of the linen cardstock.
In other news:
** I was suppose to receive my PTI package today but of course stupid UPS refuses to leave anything on my doorstep. Gawd, I am so irritated with them.  I pray I am around tomorrow to sign for it otherwise I have another late night trip to the giant UPS depot in my future.
** Last year I wrote this post.  Nearly ever google search on my site meter comes from that post.  Hilarious.  Its that time again.  I sent the hubs down to the good aquarium to get us some more feeder fish.  One is already dead.  I am sure the PETA people will be all over me again.  I don't care.   The way I figure it these guys are getting a deal, they were meant to be food but now they have a stay of execution.  Some of the fish from last year are still alive, having been adopted by the more responsible students.  The students are really looking forward to this project.  I am excited for them.
** Its been a thousand degrees here!  I am running my a/c in April!  Its crazy, but I was so hot I couldnt take it anymore.  Hoping for that cooling trend to happen soon.

Mother's Day Card

I meant this to be a Mother's Day card.  I am selling a few at work, I give the proceeds to the 6th graders-they are raising money for 6th grade camp.  This card is all PTI.  Stamp set is With Sympathy (I just love that flourish!!) The sentiment is Heartfelt basics.  Paper is PTI Hibiscus burst and linen vellum.  Hibiscus ribbon as well.  A little bit of stickles for some glimmer.

Hippity Hop

Birthday card I made with some new Hero Arts Stamps.  The sentiment is from PTI's pond life.  Paper is all PTI.  Colored with my copics.  I love to color with copics... best marker investment ever!  I buy mine from merriartist.com.  They rock.  The shipping is so fast.  I ordered on Tuesday evening and was coloring on Friday.  Does my picture look washed out to you?  I edited it a little in iphoto and on my laptop it looked fab but now it looks a little washed out to me.  Well happy Monday all!

Mother's Day Card

Don't know if this is the one that will go to my mom, but I really like how it turned out. I used everyday classics (PTI's anniversary set) and Women of Life. PTI bitty dot paper in spring moss and plum pudding.  Plum pudding ribbon and ink.  Also used lavender moon and spring moss ink.  I havent had much mojo lately.  Been doing other things but today I got down to work and busted out 4 or 5 cards plus some colored panels for future cards.  I will see if I can take some pictures tomorrow.  Have a great weekend!

Perfect Match Monday

Its Perfect Match Monday over at Sara's place.  Today she has given us the color palette of dark chocolate, lemon tart, spring moss, and melon berry.  I loved this palette instantly!   I used the PTI sets borders and corners circles and Birds of a Feather.  The black sentiment is my own writing.  The big button is pti's melon berry vintage buttons and the little guys are from Making Memories Chloe's closet.  If you want to play along just click on the link in my side bar --->

Kristina Werner Color Challenge

I have never done this one before!  I think its the mother of all color challenges and it intimidates me!  Especially since all the colors are SU! and I dont own anything SU! so I am color matching from my screen which we all know can be incredibly wrong!  I included the swatches so you could see.  If you have never been to Kristina's blog, check it out here.
So here is my take. I used PTI's black and white dp and then colored it with copics. The flowers are from MM. The brad is a lovely green (photo doesnt really show that) and its from Reminiscence. The card base is bazzill, it came in a big color pack so I am not sure what shade it is. The happy birthday is from PTI's birthday basics. Thanks for stopping by!

Another Card with Guidelines 2

This one in black and white with just a little punch of red.  I made it special for a friend who liked another card I did but gave to someone else.  I love the simplicity of black and red.  All materials are PTI with the exception of the hero arts gems.  I colored on the guidelines with red copic marker (strong red I think...)  Haven't felt much like creating all week.  Maybe I will play a bit today.  Happy Saturday all!

Welcome Little One

I made this as part of a 4 card set for welcoming a little one. I recently sold a bunch of cards at work to make some money for the sixth graders to pay for sixth grade camp. I was actually shocked at how many people bought a card! My mom came and took a bunch more... I actually cleaned out a good deal of my stash! I meant to replenish it this week... but then I discovered Twilight. It was like heroin! hahaha! Anyway I finished up the last book on Thursday night. So I should soon be free of the Twilight haze. Out of the four books (all incrediably long by the way... like 500 plus pages) I think the first one was the very best. Something about it, it was just perfect. I did like all three, including the fourth one which I guess many people didnt like. I didnt really think they were "teenager" books but I could totally see the teenage appeal. The teenage heroine did wear on my 36 year old nerves on occaison. But really if you havent read them you should definitely try them out. Next up on my list is a book by Lisa Kleypas called Blue Eyed Devil. Its a sequel to her book Sugar Daddy. I love her writing. Total romance but deliciously yummy. How quickly I can digress! Anyway back to the card... Baby Card made with PTI's bitty baby... which I have to confess is not a set I use often, I have even contemplated selling it. (Shocking!) The sentiment is from the anniversary set. Card color is hibiscus. PP is bitty dot in sweet blush. Used a fiskars punch on the bitty dot. Picked up that punch for a steal at Tuesday Morning. Hibiscus ribbon and some dew drops round it out. Have a fabulous Friday!

Coming Up for Air

First off I just have to say those Twilight Books are so good!  I am nearly done with the last one... about 2/3 of the way through.  I am sure I will finish it tonite sometime.  I had to take a little break.  Bella was starting to get on my nerves.  Sometimes she is such a teenager!  Some things about those books take me right back to teenager land.   Anyway if you haven't given them a try you should.... Onto some crafty stuff.  I made this last week.

This is one of my most favorite Guidelines 2 cards ever. I made it for my mom's birthday this month. I did end up stamping a happy birthday sentiment on the bottom after I took the picture. I used Kraft cardstock as the base for my patterned paper.  I stamped the guidelines 2 grid in fresh snow.  The center of the circles is also fresh snow.  In between I stamped with avocado and ocean tides.  I used some light blue dew drops and stuck them down with blue (patina) stickles.  If you have never tried dew drops with stickles try it out, its gorgeous IRL.  I tried to get a close up for you so you could see all the sparkle.  I added some score lines to my Ripe Avocado base with my score pal and then tied the whole thing with some ocean tides ribbon.  A little more patina stickles as an accent and I was all done.  Hope you enjoy!  Now I am off to finish that book so I can stamp and think of things besides vampires!  LOL.  Happy Thursday!

Perfect Match Monday (And Why You Might Not Hear From Me for a Few Days)

Edit:  Yep I have  shown both these cards before!  Sorry!!  But I am knee deep in Eclipse (Twilight Book 3) You will just have to forgive me this time! :)derby
Top Card:  All PTI Flower Garden stamps, aqua mist ink, raspberry swiss dot ribbon, raspberry fizz cs, select white cs.
Bottom Card:  Stamps PTI Borders and Corners Circles, Birthday basics.  Hero ARts: hello birdy.  PTI raspberry fizz cs, aqua mist cs, unknown flower and gem

Sara has issued another perfect match monday challenge. If you want to play click on the link in my sidebar. This weeks challenge is Raspberry Fizz. I love the Fizz but not all alone and truthfully I really am not fond of the dp.  I kinda cheated here because I made both these cards a couple of months ago. I don't think I have ever posted them on the blog-o but if I am wrong, I apologize now. I haven't had time to make anything new and really I am shocked to be on the computer at all. Why you ask? A friend sent my Twilight for my birthday. I read it in one gulp (start to finish with a hour or so break to eat and put my kids in bed). Then I ran right out and bought the remaining three books. I finished number two today. So thats two huge books in 2.5 days. (My kids are in school and I am on spring break...lots of reading time). Tomorrow I imagine I will be reading book 3. They are so good!!! I totally rolled my eyes when everyone else was raving but now... now... sadly this 36 year old mother of two is a little Edward crazy. Is it wrong that I dont love Bella? Well I like Bella ok but I {puffy heart love} Edward. sigh.... why cant all men be hot, perfect, sparkly vampires?

More Guidelines 2

I am really liking this card.  Its a just because card.  Something to send off to a friend who is feeling down or something like that.  All materials are PTI with the exception of the little pearls which are Hero ARts.  The sentiment is from PTI's mixed messages.

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #3

Today we have another color challenge from the lovely and talented Dawn McVey. Love her color pics, so fun!  My card uses stamps from Hero Arts.  Its one of their new spring sets.  All my paper is from Papertrey ink.  Colors used are:  Kraft, Vintage Vanilla, Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush Polka Dots.  The flowers are from American Crafts, I have had them forever.  The buttons are also from Papertrey Ink, the vintage vanilla collection.  I used inks in pure poppy and berry sorbet.  I also used copic markers to color.  I tried to make my bird look fuzzy by blending with my colorless blender.  I cant decide if I like mr fuzzy bird or if I should have left him alone.  The whole card is rubbed with vintage vanilla ink.  Have an awesome Sunday!

Funky Card Sizes

I made this out of scraps, so its a total random sized square, would definitely need a special envelope.   I don't know about you but I usually stick to A2 when making cards.  I like that you can get two cards out of one piece of 81/2 x 11.  But sometimes I have scraps to use up and I come up with something different.  So here I was using a scrap piece of Ripe Avocado, a piece of spring moss dots, some left over guidelines 2 stamping.  The sentiment is from out of the box and the buttons are from Making Memories (The Chloe's Closet line- I went back for more and the were gone!  oh well).  Sorry the picture is a little dark, definitely not my best photography effort.  Have a good weekend!

Hi!

Hi there and happy Thursday! Only 2 more days until my spring break and then a whole lovely week off! I can't wait. In the meantime I have this card, I made it when I first got my EK success bubble punch. I wanted to show those bubbles off, so I backed it with PTI's dp, bitty dots in spring rain. The flower stamp is from PTI's Flower Garden. Those stickers were in my stash, I am pretty sure they are bo bunny.

Something a little different

I have a ton of primas.  I buy them and buy them and then put them on a shelf.   I bet you wouldn't do that, would you?  I decided I needed to use some up and this is what I came up with.  Lots of lovely primas, dew drops, and some cute PTI honey bees stamps.
