Changes

Well where to begin? Let's start with the card. I made this for the last Paper Crafts Magazine call. This one didn't get picked up but in happy happy news another one did! So finally I will be published. To say I am excited would be an extreme understatement. I was shaking as I mailed that baby off! LOL! Anyway this card was for the paper piecing call. Let me just say cutting out that flower was so hard! But I love the way it turned out and now that it has been rejected I can give it away to a friend. ;)
On Tuesday I go back to work so if the blog goes quiet for awhile don't be concerned I just need to relearn how to budget my time. The first few weeks of the school year are always the hardest. I teach in the state of California, home to the world's laziest legislature, where they still haven't managed to pass a budget. I (along with all the other teachers in my district) took a big pay cut and there still isn't any money. The whole thing is beyond frustrating.
I bought a new computer! It was definitely time for an upgrade. I am now the proud owner of a MacBook Pro. Its my second Mac and I am thrilled with it so far. My kiddos will be pleased to be able to play with the old one. I know they will want to be dragging it off to their rooms but I insist the internet be used where I can see it. There is so much bad stuff out there.
Thanks for stopping in today! I will post the card deets below. Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
Card Deets:
Stamps: Friends Til the End (PTI)
Paper: Kraft, pure poppy, bitty dot sunrise, bitty dot pure poppy
Ink: dark chocolate
Bling: Hero Arts, A'muse

I said it on the PTI thread but I'll say it again - I'm so excited for you to be published. I can't wait to see your card. This one is so pretty and I can't believe you cut out that flower! What a labor of love.

I do the exact same thing with my kids re: internet. Must be in public spaces in the house and not in their rooms. DD10 is having a hard time with that but I just tell her that's our family rule and there's no use arguing about it because I'm not changing my mind. Yes - definitely too much bad stuff out there.

Yay way to go, Derbyshire gal! I always love it when I can flick through a magazine and I recognise my bloggy friends - I feel like I have famous friends y'know!
What patience you have cutting this flower out - I considered paper piecing this too but was too lazy! Might do now I know how pretty it looks!
Hope it goes well on Tue, we're back tomorrow - out goes the bloggin, in comes the work *sigh*

This is an absolutely beautiful, fabulous card! Can't wait to see the other one, if they turned this one down! That flower just pops off the page. Your cutting is fantastic set against the background stamping. Hope you don't mind if I file this one for future casing. Congratulations and let us know when the publication is available!
