I am Back!

image
Hello friends!  Well we are all moved in.  The craft room has been set up and things are getting back to normal.  I've made a few things but most of them have been in the envelope and out the door before I could even think about a picture.  However, I do have something for you today.  The thank you card uses all PTI- Framed Out and Butterfly stamps and die.  Canyon clay, summer sunrise, and hawaiian shores ink.  Thanks for stopping in and I hope I will be back to regular posting soon.

PTI Challenge- Butterflies

P1060842
Hello friends! Its been awhile! We had a bout of sickness go through the house. My daughter and I were both down with it for awhile. However, I am back today with a new PTI Anniversary challenge. This one involves Butterflies and you can read about it here.
My card today uses Butterflies from the set Butterfly Dreams.  The leaves are from Turning a New Leaf.  The sentiment is from Big Birthdays (or something like that...sorry!) and the frame is from Fillable Frames Additions.  I messed this card up big time!  It was originally a single layer cream card with only the butterflies layered on.  It was all done and I went to stamp the back with my custom name stamp and completely screwed it up.  I couldn't toss it though so I cut apart the front and layered it on some Spring Moss cardstock.  I also cut out the inside and adhered it to the inside of the card.  All better now!  I leave you with a close up of the little butterflies.  Some are popped up with dimensionals and others are adhered straight down.  Thanks for stopping in!

Gift bag

Good morning blog friends!  I used my iphone to take the picture in Instagram so the colors are a little off, sorry about that.  That patterned paper is aqua colored.  The ink is dark chocolate.  I got the tiny lunch bag at Michaels.  There were a dozen in a bag for about 2-3 bucks.  I put some yummy chocolate chip cookies in there for a friend.  The plaid is made with Waltzingmouse's plaid stamp (I cut it apart and used only the skinny side), the sentiment and frame are from PTI.

More Thank Yous

Good morning friends. A few more thank yous left over from my color blocking fun. P1060785
The first card uses the negative image.   After I cut the butterflies I trimmed it up to match up with the card front.  I added a sheer ribbon, sentiment stamp, and some stickles.  The die and the sentiment stamp are both PTI.

And here is a little something using the positive image.  More stickles, some bling, a button and a little ribbon.  Trail is hand drawn and sentiment is from PTI Inside and Out Thank you.  Thanks for stopping in today!

Quick and Easy Gift!

Hi all! I think you are going to like today's project! I got the idea from this wonderful post by Jennifer McGuire on the Hero Arts blog. Watch the video it explains how to get that wonderful personalized portion just right everytime. These are quick too! I made a set for each of my kids' teachers and this set for my stepmom (I'm thinking Christmas!) in under two hours. That's 12 cards in under two hours.
I started off with a Vintage Cream base. I followed the Hero Arts tutorial to get the personalized part printed on the front of each card. Next I took my nesties Label one and embossed each card. Then I got my PTI Vintage Label stamp set and stamped the outline. I then die cut four butterflies with my PTI butterfly die. I stamped them with my butterfly dreams stamp set and then colored them with my copics.
Here it is with a blue butterfly!
A pretty orange butterfly!
And last, but not least, a gorgeous green butterfly! Now I just need to order up some cream envies and I am in business for Christmas gifts. Thanks for coming by today!

Vellum Butterflies

Good Morning! I have some more vellum butterflies today. I have gotten a few questions about these little guys so I thought I would give you some tips in making them. Here's what I do:
1. First I use PTI Vellum. You may think there is not a big difference, but there is. This is the thickest vellum I have ever encountered... in fact its too thick for some projects, but for butterflies its perfect.
2. I use my PTI butterfly die to die cut the vellum. I usually do a whole bunch at one time to save and use later.
3. I stamp my die cuts with the butterflies from PTI's butterfly dream. I use chalk inks, specifically the ones by Versamagic. The color lays down beautifully, it does not smear, and it dries very quick. I have used Palette inks but I find they are too watery and smear easily.
4. I add coordinating jewels. These jewels are teeny tiny. I got some from A'muse and some from Hero arts. They are itsy bitsy.
5. Attaching the butterfly to the card is a little tricky. First I fold up the wings. Then I spread Tombow liquid glue (in the white bottle with the green lid) on the the vellum under the jewels. I wait a few seconds and then stick it down. The glue is very strong and once dry the butterflies do not fall off.
For these two cards I used all PTI products (except ink and jewels). I used Kraft for the bases, one card has a side fold, the other a top fold. I used guidelines paper on the bases. I trimmed it with plum pudding twill. I used to fillable frame 5 to make the die cut, stamp the border, and the sentiment. Doesn't that ink match great? Its chalk ink by Versamagic in the color purple hydrangea.

Butterfly Thanks

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by! Today's card is made with a PTI base in Summer sunrise. I made the panels using PTI Turning a new leaf and Beautiful Blooms 2. I added a strip of pp (Bitty Boxes in Summer Sunrise) and a piece of Simply Chartreuse Twill. The butterfly (from Butterfly Dreams) was stamped on vellum and cut with the matching die. I added a small row of crystals (Amuse) down the center. The sentiment is from Fillable Frame and is stamped in Fresh Snow.

Celebrate Butterfly

Good Morning! Actually its 3:00am here. I have no idea why I can't sleep but I strongly suspect its because my husband is sick and is coughing and hacking in my bed. I am the only one who has avoided the illness but I can't help thinking I am going to be next. Anyhow... on to today's card. Its pretty simple. I stamped a large flourish from PTI's Fancy Flourishes in Fresh Snow ink on raspberry fizz cardstock. Next I stamped and die cut a butterfly from Butterfly Dreams on some PTI vellum. I added a little row of Amuse bling. I adhered a scrap of die cut Raspberry Fizz bitty dot paper and accented the scallops with bling. Finally I stamped the celebrate sentiment from Fillable Frame 5 in fresh snow. It was not dark enough (or white enough...) so I carefully traced it with my uniball white pen.

Butterfly Thank You

Happy Saturday! Today I have for you a card made with PTI's new Butterfly Dreams. I used the new scallop dies to cut out three pink scallops (fizz, hibiscus, sweet blush) and the butterfly die to cut out the butterflies. I colored the butterflies with my copics. I stamped the sentiment in fresh snow. A few little rhinestones for some glitter. I have to go to professional development all day. I hope your Saturday is better than mine!
