Ruffled Ribbon?

Hey there bloggy friends! I guess by now you can tell I have a little infatuation going on with the melon berry paper? I don't know why, truly. I have never liked this color. And the ink PTI released with it was completely awful. But I have found the my little dew drop, grapefruit matches perfectly! Colors are a bit off in the photo- its been nothing but gloom here... no natural light at all just ugly gray foggy days, even the lightest room in my house is dismal. Outside its WET so no pictures there either. Anyway I digress- got some PTI tiny treats birthday and some big birthday wishes here. A strip of cosmo cricket paper and some pti vellum. Some lovely ruffled melon berry ribbon. Its ruffled on score tape. An MM flower and some pretty buttons. What you see, is what you get! Have a good Monday!

I also have some great news about STS. Nancy is about to hit 20,000 on her counter and when she does there is going to be something cool happening. So definitely check over at her blog on Monday and Tuesday. You just might be seeing some discounts....

Birthday Card Set

Good Morning Bloggy Friends! I have a little birthday card set that I made for a friend to donate to her church auction. First up is the whole set- packed into a plastic wallet and tied with a pretty bow. Bonus is the cute little tag that could be used on a birthday bag. All stamps are from PTI. The inks are a mix of dew drops and PTI hybrid. The first card up is done in a purple scheme. All the cards have the same layout. I did vary the pictures. Two have birthday cakes, two have cupcakes. Most of the stamps are from TT Birthday but some are from fillable frames and some from Its a Celebration.

This peach card is my favorite, which is funny because I have never really liked that melon berry paper. But something about this card has me really liking it.
This card is my second favorite and the first one I made. I love that mat stack stamp.

Hearts

Hey look, its not a bird! LOL! I had a friend over a few weekends ago and I was introducing her to the great art of stamping. We did a bit of Valentine's day stamping and played with a lot of stamps that had matching punches or die cuts. I ended up making this. I left the sentiment for the inside of the card. Its a pretty simple card. I used PTI backgrounds Hearts, Heart Prints, Simple Valentine, ribbon, cardstock and scalloped die.

Thank you Birds

Hey there is a bird for every occasion! LOL! I worked on a bunch of new stuff this weekend too- and no birds, LOL! If you are sick of birds, I promise some other stamps in the next few days. But today's card features Bitty Bird and Fillable frames. I think the sentiment is from the Signature series. Paper along the bottom is from Pretty Pastels. The birds are cut out and popped up for a little extra oomph. Thanks for stopping in!

Good morning! Are you enjoying your Sunday? I have a horrible cold, but other than that things are going well. Today's card features the Bitty Bird and the Vintage Picnic stamp sets from PTI. The background is from bitty bird, as is the sentiment, and the little birds. The basket and flowers are from Vintage Picnic. Those super cute buttons are from doodlebug.

Waltzingmouse Goodness

Good Morning Blog Friends! Its a great day! I am totally happy because I got my issue of PC magazine with my FIRST published creation! Its a little box in Stamp It Techniques. Its in the paper piecing section. That totally made my week. LOL Anyway, today I have some yummy Waltzingmouse goodness and a matching envie because I was just feeling all kinds of crafty the other day. Ive got stamps from the basket set and also little buddies. Both fabulous sets, my favorite are the fonts. Claire has a way with fonts. I colored everything up with my copics. Layered some Hawaiian shores, Aqua Mist and Kraft paper and tied on a pretty bow. Thanks for stopping by!

Little Birdie in the Love Tree

Good Morning Bloggy Friends! Did you enjoy your extra day off? I normally don't work on Mondays so really it just messes me up when the kids are off and everyone else is wandering around, lol. Anyway I did get a bit of crafting done this weekend. For this card I used a kraft base. I rounded the corners. I added a sweet blush die cut (labels 14? or maybe 8? sorry I am too lazy to go look). Then I got a smaller die cut and added my birdie stamps. I used a little heart from Simple Valentine to make a heart tree. The round sentiment is also from Simple Valentine. I've got three buttons across the bottom with pearls in the center. I think that about covers it. Thanks for stopping in! Oh and if you have a minute I have a new card up over at Waltzingmouse Makers. Link in the sidebar ----->

Some Shady Tree Goodness...

I had a great day yesterday introducing a friend of mine to lovely world of stamping and copic coloring. I think she is sold. She loved Bitty Bird, LOL! This is one of the cards that I made yesterday using my Shady Tree Studio Stamps. This is from Nancy's newest release. I stamped the rose on white and then cut it out with my oval nesties. I colored it with my copics and matted it on some pp. I stamped the background with some versamark and another of Nancy's lovely stamps. I added the sentiment in Smokey Grey and then glued down the Victorian lace die cut. Since I was on a roll I made a matching envie. Thanks for popping in!

Help For Katie

Hi there blog friends! I am starting off this post with a super offer and a great way to help fellow crafter, Katie Renz. If you are here looking at cards you have probably already heard of Katie. She is a super talented crafter and has a beautiful blog. She is one of the first people I got to know when I started stamping. Just before Christmas Katie was diagnosed with Stage 4 Stomach cancer. Katie shares her story on her blog here. Don't run off just yet though.... you simply must see what fellow crafter, Jak Heath has done for her. Jak has rounded up her talented stamp designing friends and is offering an amazing package of digital stamps from several stamping companies. You make a donation and you get a wonderful digi stamp package. You also get entered in an awesome prize drawing. You could win a whole set of promarkers! (Those are just like copics, very popular in the UK). So its win, win. You help Katie and her family and you get great stamps.

Baby Shower Invites

My sister in law is expecting her first baby this May. We are all so excited for her. I was happy to make the invitations for her shower in April. Thankfully they are almost all done, because I have never been one for mass production. I used Spring rain and lemon tart cardstock with doodlebug dotted paper. The teddy bear is from PTI's baby button bits.
The information is all computer generated. I am way to lazy to hand write it. I used PTI's gingham ribbon and buttons. The blue squiggly is from bitty bird and the little ducky from bitty baby.
Thanks for coming by. And thanks so much for all the nice comments about my birdie card.

Little Birdie Finds a Home

Hi there blog friends! I finally got my Little Bird set from PTI and I ran to my stamps to dig out Bird Watching because I just knew these two would go well together. I never cared for the birds in bird watching because they were solid and the houses were outlines. Peeps it needs to be all solid or all outline I do not like the whole solid and outline mixy matchy. Anyway these birds from Little Bitty Bird are the perfect scale for the cute bird houses. I have been a happy girl stamping away today!
On this first card I mixed my bird houses and bitty birds with one of my fillable frames sets. I colored everything using my copics. Let me offer you a little tip here, if you are coloring on PTI's vintage cream the copics are going to spread more than normal. So stay back away from the line. Give the color somewhere to move to. Also the darker the color the more it bleeds so when using dark brown or dark red be really careful.
This card I took the same basic stamping "picture" and trimmed it closer. Colors and "picture" are basically the same, however I added two more hearts to make the picture more vertical for my vertical card. Its colored almost identical to the first one. I added a fillable frame that I matted on some red bitty dot paper. I paper pieced two of the hearts and then colored the bird to match. I also used my white gel pen to add a little border to the longer picture.

Next is the details... now I dont always do these things. Sometimes I am too tired or too hurried. But its the details that really make a project stand out. Take the back of the envelope for instance- here I added a little bird and the word hello. What a nice little surprise for the recipient. Thats not something you find at hallmark.
Here I lined the envie with bitty dot paper. If you have the PTI envie die this is a simple and easy step. Sure the envelope might get tossed. Who cares? Look at the impact this has. This makes people stop and say Wow!
And finally we have the front of the envie. The fillable frames make the perfect address frames. So quick and easy to do. If you have a little extra time add one of the stamps you used on the card or a coordinating stamp. Here I have two little birds and the heart. I generally dont color on envies because of the whole bleeding thing but if you wanted to you could. Just slip a little scrap of card inside to soak up the ink. Easy peasy and really worth the extra effort to make something stand out.

You've Got Mail

Hi there! This stamp set is a new one for me. I got it from the lovely Joan aka Dear Paperlicious. Its a Pure Innocence stamp from My Favorite Things. I was totally unfamiliar with this line, but look how cute! Uh oh.... Anyway I colored her with my copics and mounted her on some smokey shadow cardstock. I tied on a hawaiian shores polka dot ribbon. I usually dont "do" people stamps but I think this one is too cute. Thanks for stopping in today. I am trying to get back on a regular posting schedule. This is my last day of vacay and I have a zillion things to do before work tomorrow. I am up early today to get my kiddos back to school and let me tell you the alarm was an unwelcome sound this morning. Who knew 2 weeks off could mess me up so much?

Belated Christmas and Happy New Year

Happy New Year blog friends! I am blogging on the road from my new iPad and it's more difficult than I thought it would be. But I am giving it my best shot. I made this card using PTIs Believe set. I picked out a nontraditional color scheme, taking my colors from my patterned paper. I can't double check from here but I think that paper is from Bo bunny. I will double check when I get home. Thanks for stopping by today. Happy 2011 to you!
